Equinox LT 2.4L Flex

  • Automatic transmission
  • 36,597 miles

Despite only having 36k miles, it has no air recirculation and none of the buttons to change what vent the air blows out of does anything at all, not even defrost. The only thing I can do is change the temp and the fan speed. There are not clicks not knocks, nothing. This most likely means there is either an electrical or software related problem as mode actuators click when broken.

This is extremely annoying when driving in the moist Florida mornings when defrost is needed and is even more annoying when driving near someone's car thats burning oil or smoking cigs or weed, the horrible stench goes right into my vents even with the fan off and makes the whole car reek of the outside fumes. If you want a reliable first car, TURN AROUND AND RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN.

Equinox LS

  • Automatic transmission
  • 58,000 miles

The mode for air circulation for the heat and air stopped working. No matter what mode is selected (defrost, face, feet, defrost & feet) the warm or cold air blows out the two front vents near the heat/air controls. This is a dangerous problem when the windows fog up. I'm sure it will cause me headaches when snow and frost accumulate on the windshield. I keep a towel in the car in case I need to wipe moisture from the windshield. I've read that older Equinoxes have had problems with the heat/air. If you know what needs to be repaired, please reply.

Equinox LS 2.4L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

Unit will not move the air flow to the defrost vents or to the heater vents. Air coming out of center console and side ports only. Will heat and cool, but airflow will not move. Standard oil changes at dealership. Came home from one of those and the next time after when I tried to use the defrost the airflow would only come out the center console. Then, when I tried to use the heater I had the same problem.

Equinox

  • Automatic transmission
  • 75,000 miles

Had an oil change at a Firestone Center last week, and just noticed that when I turned my defroster on this morning, the air is blowing out the front vents. No matter where I switch it to, the air comes out the front. I have never had this happen before, and I just wonder if they bumped something when they checked my cabin filter. The temp is fine, just not blowing where it should. It is starting to cool off, and this will be a major issue in a couple weeks.

Equinox LTZ 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

We are unable to change where the air from the climate control system blows in our 2014 Equinox. It is currently blowing on our feet. We had a cold front and had to use the heater for like two hours. Went into a store, and came out to go somewhere else. We needed the AC at this point, but when we tried to change the settings, the air would only blow on our feet. I tried unhooking the battery to reset any faults that the computers may have and no luck. I found in some forums that there were recalls put out for earlier year models for a software glitch that caused this same issue. Any other 2014 owners having this issue?
