When driving in inclement weather on a major US Highway (rt. 93), wipers suddenly stopped working. I had to pull to the side of a busy highway with little/no visibility.

Was driving in the rain about 1 mile from the house on my way to grocery store and wipers quit during a rain storm. Had to drive back home barely being able to see with the rain hitting the windshield. Managed to get the SUV home but now unable to drive when it is raining or predicting rain in the forecast. I have learned the make and model was recalled in Canada but not in the US. I worked 30 years for GM and I feel that since I never caused this problem it should be fixed my GM, especially since they recalled it for the problem in Canada. I have bought GM products most of my life but not sure I will again. I have a 2003 S-10 truck and the wipers still work perfectly on it and never had an issue so in my mind it was a faulty part or faulty workmanship on this 2014 Equinox and should be repaired by GM.

While my wife was driving down the road the windshield wipers quit working. When she got home I checked the fuses, which were good, and then turned the wipers on and heard the motor running. The wipers weren’t moving but I could move them by hand. I removed the wiper transmission and found the problem. The ball joint had popped out of the plastic cap. I replaced the cap but it was loose and I knew it wouldn’t, hold, which it didn’t. After looking the part over I just had to laugh because of GMs lack of engineering . This part moves thousands of times over its lifespan and it is a “plastic cap over a metal ball.” I would hate to see the 2013 models that were recalled if these are better. Not sure what the changes were but obviously it ‘s not working.

Was out in very heavy rain and all of the sudden the windshield wipers stop in the upward position, but I can still hear the wiper motor running. I had to pull over and wait until it stopped raining so I wouldn't get into an accident. I read that the 2013 Chevy Equinox was recalled due to this issue, so why the 2014 model wasn't recalled. GM needs to get it together with these cheap parts.

In 2014 my car was purchased brand new. I've never owned a brand new car, always used. I get this brand new car because I started working and I needed reliable transportation to and from work. I was a happy camper because I thought I had no real worries. Well, here I am. First, let me say that, my car will be 5 years old in October 2019. It has 51,000 miles on it. I drove it once to the state of Michigan, which is a 2 hrs. Drive from Chicago. I'm saying this because I don't drive out of town. I'm a local driver. I go to work, grocery store, doctor's office, and etc. I take the car in when I need my oil changes done.

Out of the blue with no warning at all, I'm heading to my nephew's high school graduation, and it begins to pour down raining as I'm driving. I was so afraid for my life as well as others because I couldn't see a damn thing. I put my hazards on and prayed no one hit me as I was trying to pull on in a dangerous neighborhood. All I was thinking about was if it safe to sit here or drive slow with my hazards on. Guess what I did? Yes, I drove slowly in the rain scared because I couldn't see that well without the wipers working. This was very unsafe. I could have hit someone or crashed into another car. I called the dealership for an appointment to see what was going on, and I was told that it will cost $148 just to have them look at the car. Not that it will go towards the problem but just to look at the car.

Mind you, I just had an oil change less than 3 weeks ago. Why didn't the problem show up during inspection. Just so happen to be off work this week because my son was coming home from the Navy and now I have to worry about getting my car fixed

Oh I left out the part about me being disabled. Yes I work and can get around but I'm very limited. I really don't have the money to get my car fixed properly. I looked up the recalls and it don't mention 2014 having a wiper blades problem but I starting to believe this just may be a safety problem that should be recalled as well. Don't even know where to begin with this problem. I'm starting to believe that a used car just may be my next car. Makes no sense to me that a problem can arise without warning that a safety issue. I'm so disgusted right now. Didn't take off work to be trying to get my car fixed but this is what I will be doing. I think that GMC should be adding the 2014 Equinox to their recall for the wiper blades being inoperable.

I got out in the rain to check the blades and found that they would moved very easily and when moving the blade on the driver's side, the passenger side blade moved as well. I've never experienced this before. Again, without warning. I'm driving, it starts pouring down raining. I turned my wipers on and they stopped immediately in the down position and never came back on. Now I can only drive if it's not raining.

I'm very unhappy with this vehicle. I've always wanted this car, and I get it to only get caught in between recalls. There's a problem with the wiper blades GMC and mine is a 2014.

I've owned 7 cars in my life and I've never had the wipers not work. Usually the nuts just comes loose on the arm and you tighten them and everything is fine. One morning a week ago I went to hit the wipers to clean off some VERY minimal snow and they didn't move. So I picked the wipers up off the window, shook them off, and tried again and all I heard was the motor running but the wipers were useless. Searched online and YouTube is full of videos with this problem. I learned that it was what GM calls the wiper transmission. I took the wipers and everything off and come to find out the arm that connects to the little hinge on the wiper motor fell off the bushing. So I popped it back on, put it all back together, hit the wipers, and they went up halfway and I heard the arm fall back off. I was HEATED!!!

GM needs to fix this for all the cars that are affected not just 2013 model years!!! I'm not dishing out $400 for something that is clearly a manufacturer defect. So I guess I'll just be driving around without wipers because I can't afford to have it fixed, and there's no replacement bushing you have to buy the whole motor and assembly for $130 that's ridiculous. Everything else including the motor is fine.

I was driving to work at 2:00 a.m. when my wipers just stopped in the upright position. There was dew on the windshield and it made it hard to see. Could cause an accident if it had been raining. I understand there was a recall on 2013 Equinox for the same thing. Apparently they DID NOT FIX IT! And when I called in to have it fixed.....they acted like they never heard of this problem and let me pay for a motor which wasn't even the part. Time for another dealership or maybe a FORD.

Wipers stopped in the upright position during a heavy rain storm. Was driving on a winding mountain road and had about a mile to my destination. When I turn the wipers on, you can hear the wiper motor still working. This is a huge safety issue and needs to be investigated, especially since the 2013 models had a recall on this exact issue. I'm Googling the issue and am not liking what I am finding (over $350 to repair this issue!).

While driving on the interstate in GA 85 North in a heavy rainstorm wipers were on and working properly, wipers suddenly stopped in mid swipe and were stuck in an upward position blocking the driver vision I pulled over and reset the wipers they never came back on. Found out from a friend to google it is a common problem with the Chevorlet Equinox which should be recalled due to the safety issue. I was on the interstate going around 60 mph I was able to pull over without being able to see ahead of me this could of caused a serious accident.
