problem #1

Dec 012014

Equinox 2LT 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission

Press gas slightly and get a vibration in pedal and steering wheel. Also get a grinding noise. Do not believe anything is actually grinding but not sure. This occurs also when cruise is on and car is going up incline and engine needs a little more gas to maintain speed. Dealer says nothing is wrong. And maybe that is correct. But it sure is annoying for a car that cost over 32K.

I can't believe GM would put out a car with this kind annoying problem and not have some sort of fix for it. A long trip would sure be a royal pain in the foot if not using the cruise. The noise is annoying also. I found one other complaint that mentioned a noise when pressing on the gas pedal. By the way. This is a 4 cyl with 6 speed tranny.

Update from May 5, 2015: drove a 2015 same car and experienced the same problem. Terribly disappointed in GM and Chevrolet for letting this out to the public. The first new car from GM that I have had trouble with. . We had hoped that this would be our last new car purchase. Not sure now. I was told the problem is that there is not enough torque

between the engine the torque converter and the tranny in the sixth gear. This causes a vibration when gas pedal is pressed just slightly. Was told that I drive carefully. This should not occur no matter how one drives.

Told Chevy that they could trade me straight across the board. Or they can just buy it back. Have not heard back. Go figure.
