problem #2

Feb 142020

Equinox LX 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 108,737 miles

Oil level low due to high consumption. Apparently COMMON in Equinox from Chevy! No warning light. Caused timing chain to slip and bending valves and rocker arms destroyed. I needed to replace the entire engine!!!

problem #1

Equinox LT

  • Automatic transmission
  • 114,484 miles

BOUGHT IT AS A USED CAR. THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS CHECKED OUT. HOW CAN THREE ENGINE MOUNTS, ONE TRANSMISSION MOUNT, AND TWO TENSIONER, WEAR OUT SO SOON.. WHEN THE CAR IS ONLY THREE YEARS OLD. WHEN WE FIRST TURNED THE CAR ON AND PUT IT IN REVERSE, IT FELL LIKE THE ENGINE WAS GOING TO FALL OFF AND THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM! WE'RE SENIORS AND IT WAS EXPENSIVE FOR US TO FIX THE PROBLEM. WHEN WE FIRST BOUGHT THE NOISE WASN'T TOO BAD, BUT ON 1/21/19 THE NOISE GOT LOUDER AND MORE VIBRATION. AT OUR AGE WE DON'T ABUSE OUR AUTOS.
