Equinox LT 1.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 28,500 miles

Turbo froze while traveling in ND. At first, the dealer was hesitant to fix as it unthawed and was shifting as normal, but eventually the fix kit came out and my vehicle was brought in, fixed and has had no issues with this since.

Equinox LT 1.6L Turbo

  • Automatic transmission
  • 9,555 miles

My 2019 Equinox is 6 months old and in the repair shop for engine issues for the 3rd time. The first two were the 'tube' issue complete with 'loud pop' and 'low engine mode'. This time, the car was idling weird... sounded like it was gonna stall, transmission felt like it was jerking while going 25 mph or less and engine light came on. It drives fine with higher speeds. I'll update when I know more about this third trip.

Equinox LS 1.5L 4-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 24,000 miles

Recall repaired and also repaired 3 other times for the same issues. All-in-all it has been repaired 4 times. 3 times I have been driving down the road when it happens, and I get a reduce power notification. I call On Star and was told to get to dealership asap. I'm a single mom who works full time and goes to school full time. A reliable car is needed!!!

Equinox LT 1.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,700 miles

I was sold this vehicle with a transmission / engine issue according to Onstar reports and was never told anything from the dealer. Called GM and told them we don't want the SUV. it's not reliable, not safe. We don't feel comfortable driving it far! GM said it's under warranty and they will fix it. After 2 weeks of having, it the transmission / turbo runs really bumpy, its god awful! Just opened up a Lemon Law case over it! All we want is out of this lease and into something reliable and our payments back!

Equinox Premier 1.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,300 miles

2019 Chevy with 1300 miles on it.. in the shop twice for the turbo cooling boot.. as for the second time it is still there after two weeks with no ETA on getting it back.. We have owned the car for a little over two months.. have waited for tow trucks for over 8 hours.. have had to make one trip back to the closest deal to pick it up (so far) which is 45 mins away. I have a case open with a senior advisor that I have called six times in the last two days and have not had a return call.. that really pisses me off.. and no idea of when we are getting a car back that we are making payments on!!

Equinox LS

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,065 miles

TRAVELING AT THE SPEED LIMIT (65MPH) THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE AND THE EQUINOX SUDDENLY LOST POWER. BABIED IT TO JESSUP CHEVROLET AND THEY QUICKLY FOUND THE PROBLEM WAS THAT THE TURBO CHARGER WAS NOT GETTING EXHAUST DUE TO A PIPE FAILURE. JESSUP DID A GOOD JOB IN GETTING US A LOANER AND WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR THE REPAIRS TO BE COMPLETED. NOT HAPPY THAT THE CHEVY EQUINOX HAS A MAJOR FAILURE AT JUST OVER 2000 MILES.

Equinox LS 1.5L Trbo Doch

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,100 miles

The charge cooler tube failed at 2100 miles on the vehicle. There was a loud bang and the whole car shook. Then the motor went into reduced power mode. This all happened on one of the LA freeways. I took the vehicle into the dealership and the very first thing I told them was I needed a loaner car as my car wasn't safe to drive anymore. They told me they would need a few hours to diagnose it before they could approve the loaner. 2.5 hours later I asked what was taking so long and they said they couldn't get to it that day and called a shuttle for me to Enterprise where I got a car.

10 days later the dealership had repaired this Equinox. I went to return my rental and they said that the dealership hadn't approved the rental...talking to the same guy I dealt with at the dealership he said "If you would have asked for a loaner we would have provided one for you." I quickly ran him through how this had already occurred and he started bumbling around and couldn't pull a sentence together to save his life. They tried to accommodate me by covering 4 days.

This all took place a Keyes Chevorlet in Van Nuys California. Pedro provided extremely poor customer service as well as the dealership and Chevy as a brand.

I think Chevy is the only brand that can break down after 2,000 miles and you have to then pay out of pocket another $400 for a rental car because your new Chevy broke down.
