The drivers seat on 2000 Chevrolet express van is becoming detached from the base. This is causing the seat to unexpectedly move when turning or stopping. The seat is detached in the rear of the base and actually swivels up towards the steering wheel. There is concern that the seat will unexpectedly move causing the operator to lose control of the vehicle. In an effort to rectify the seat problem I attempted to contact the maker of the seat. It was very difficult to obtain a replacement as phone messages and E-mails were not returned. The seat decal at the base states the seat was manufactured by atwood mobile products. After finally receiving an answer from them, they stated the seat base is at fault and was manufactured by llebroc industries (817-831-6261). The pictures I took were sent to llebroc and they advised the complete seat base must be replaced. I purchased the seat base at cost of $245. The base sent appears to be the same as the base that came with the vehicle. The clips that hold the seat to the base are thin pieces of metal that are prone to failure again. I have concern that these may fail much like the original had failed. I have pictures of the broken seat that may be sent if that is necessary.

1st time seat broke was covered under warranty. 2nd was on me, mileage over 60000. The bracket that holds the seat is like 4 thin washers, 1st time 2 brake, dealer replaced. Less than 6 months later, they all broke. I had to wire the seat in place to stop from coming completely off. Can't use the 6 way power at all, for fear of something else coming off or braking. I would guess that there other full size vans out there that have the same problem. The dealer might say its on the conversion company, but it wasn't in my case. Thank you. **dimsii IVOQ entry posted after 12-12-02 cut over to artemis**770174
