While driving and or parking, it was difficult for the consumer to roll the windows up or down on the driver's side. The part was replaced three times. The window would only move about 1/4 an inch every minute or so intermittently. It was difficult to open roll down the window when going trough the toll booth. When the window was rolled down, it would take about 5-8 minutes to get it back up. GM suggested that this was normal. Other problems were: The right cargo door panels rubbed together and made noise, the seat belt light did not come on at times, there was a "whirring" noise when the vehicle was driven at 35 mph, the bar on the driver's side door did not have enough space for the consumer's hand to use it, the door locks would click when the vehicle was in motion, the mirror switch would work with the key in the off position, the left front window would stick at times, there was a clunk sound when the vehicle was placed in reverse at times, the right rear light was sometimes not bright enough, and the spring on the gas pedal broke.

Transmission started to slip when changing gears. The transmission only had 39000 miles on it. I took the van into taylor chev. And was told that they needed me to authorize $1000 in labor costs for diagnostics. I contacted GMC to explain that I felt that they should pickup a all or a portion of the cost. GMC told me that they don't show any records that routine maintenance had been preformed because it was done by an outside source and "that doesn't count". I picked up my van and took it to a transmission shop where I was informed that this is a common problem with the 4L60E transmission. The bearing is not hardened properly and is designed to last for about 40000 miles. The total cost out of my pocket for shabby workmanship on GMC's part was $1678, which is about $1500 less that the dealer told me it was going to cost. I would like to see something done about this.

2000 Chevrolet Express van, problems with intermittent downshifting from gear 4 to gear 3 for no apparent reason. Transmission has been serviced properly. No abuse ever and mileage too low for transmission troubles. 74000 miles.
