I purchased this car from a dealership with 62000 km on it and around 72000 the service light indicator came on intermittently while driving. Now I am just above 80000 km and the light is always on "service air bag".

I called GM Canada at their head office and complained with the recalls on their ignition systems that a safety device such as this should be not an issue in the first place. They denied any knowledge of this problem. They said they don't have enough complaints. They expect us to pay.

When I refused, as my car was booked for the recall parts, they booked me on a day where I had to work and refused to give me a loaner vehicle and I missed on a days pay. All they offered was a shuttle to my house and a pick up. And still refused to look into this safety device.

They estimated $250 to look into it . but it would be at my cost where GM should stand behind their product and acknowledge that I am not the only one with a serious safety issue such as this. How many people will have to die before this gets fixed? Especially when they put cheap and faulty crap into their vehicles. I am so close to trading this in for a Dodge.

To make up for this disappointing service I expect full reimbursement for my missed salary, on account of the recall. And for GM to take responsibility and admit they do have an issue that will eventually kill someone.

My Chevrolet 2009 HHR Airbag light comes on when the car has been sitting in the sun for a few hours on a hot day. Once the car cools off the light goes off, or if it is before the sun comes up there is no problem. I reported this to my Chevrolet dealer and they pretended like this issue was foreign to them, but as I search the internet I see this issue reported by more owners than I can count. There is an issue going on and this needs to be corrected in a recall.

Took it to my mechanic and he ran a scan. Seems like a sensor somewhere, but told me to take it to the dealer. Over the winter the service airbag light never came on, but now with the warmer weather, it's starting up again.

After starting my car, the airbag light stayed on and the service airbag message appeared on the display. Took it to the dealer and they found a sensor was faulty and needed replaced. Haven't had anymore problems with the airbag since.
