No highbeam icon comes on when I try to turn it on. The high beams stopped working only shortly after buying the car.

I can not beleive that GM a multi billion dollar firm would not even consider a recall on a problem this huge, so many lives are at stake during night time driving. Including the other drivers that surround so many Impalas on the roads. Do some research on how many of these junk and dangerous cars are on the roads. But for $600.00 at the dealers they are more than happy to reinstall the same faulty junk parts. Why would GM think it's ok to drive at night with the possibility of loosing your lights and not have the convience of using your blinkers. You big shots at GM need to step it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, the high beams.... has happened about 500 times! Chevy really does need to step up and fix this issue before they get someone killed... driving in the dark, middle of BFE Texas, turn on the brights, 2 or 3 sec later its dark... nothing on, not even parking lights, then play with the high beam handle a little and the reg lights come on, so I cant even use my brights b/c when I try, they turn off! WTF CHEVY! WTF!

Impala LS 3.8L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 81,000 miles

GM needs to address this asap! Someone is going to get killed when the headlights shut off at the wrong moment. They just shut off without warning and then after you press the high/low beam lever several times they come back on. Dealer says around $700 to repair! That is unacceptable. GM needs to step up.

This is the second time this has happened, 6 months ago the blinkers did not work, then the high beam went. The hazard switch was replaced. Now it is just the high beam, your drivng along in the lights go out and your in the dark. Very dangerous.
