I have a 2005 Chevy Impala. The temperature light keeps coming on. I have took it to get fixed and they have bleed the radiator and it still keeps coming on. It makes you think the car is running hot. It also starts switching gears hard when it gets like this. It has been from the start hard to get in reverse, if parked on a hill.

Impala

  • 27,500 miles
About two years ago my speedometer quit working. I would be driving and it would register 100 mph when I was not going but about 30 mph. Around the same time my horn quit working. When I honked it, it would sound faint until it just quit. Also, when I try to put my car in gear it is really hard to at times. When it does finally go into gear it makes a really loud thud noise. Now I have a leak in my radiator that has been gradually getting bigger. I bought this car because it was supposed to be the safest. Now I'm not so sure.

9/29/2006 I purchased a used 2005 Chevrolet Impala from mission automotive and an Eagle warranty. On 1/31/2008 the car had a "coolant" problem or over-heat problem of which I took it immediately to the certified Chevy. Dealer. Eagle warranty sent an agent to look at the car after I paid $600 to have it torn down. I also incurred a rental car during this time. The problem was diagnosed by the Chevy dealer as an "engine coolant" problem. The agent from the warranty concurred and would not pay for anything. I have that report. The chef 2005 Impala operators book states the cooling system in your vehicle is filled with dex-cool engine coolant. This coolant is designed to remain in your vehicle for 5 years or 150,000 miles, whichever occurs first. My car was purchased with 84,460 miles, the defect occurred at 96,542 miles.

Impala

  • 15,000 miles
2005 Chevy Impala have had many problems, the most problems have started at 15,000 miles, I have had the rotors replaced twice and the brakes replaced four times, the mileage on the car at this time is 44,900 miles, the air conditioner went out at 35,000 the dealer said it was not covered under the warranty, of course every time I have brought the car in for warranty work the dealer has found little things wrong that total up to $200 that come out of my pocket, lots of vibration in front end, tires have cupped with the problems, there should be some kind of recall for this, now I have the vibration back and the dealership has said that it is not under warranty anymore, and the rotors and brakes were replaced approximately 6 months ago, the brakes seem to go out every 6 months. Rotors every year.

Dexcool coolant turns from orange liquid to brown corrosive sludge resulting in a clogged heater core/radiator, water pump damage, engine damage, gasket and hose deterioration and other costly repairs. GM/chevron/texaco insist on keeping this cancer in your car. Many lawsuits are pending. Boycott dexcool!!!

I purchased a vehicle from bill wink chevorlet under the assumption that it was a quality used vehicle. As soon as I drove it off the lot, I noticed there was a problem with the way the vehicle veered and stopped. I took it back to the dealer to have it looked at and was told that it was ok. I repeated this several times and was told the same thing. Finally I had enough of this car and attempted to trade it back in to the dealer who offered me very little for the vehicle. So I went to another dealer and was at that point told that my car was once and enterprise rental car and had been involved in an accident prior to my purchase. I have two young children and I don't not want this car if it had been involved in an accident. I contacted several people including the owner bill wink himself and was unable to reach a resolution, which brings me here.
