Impala 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 59,000 miles

This knocking was best described as a woodpecker locked in the glove box. I quickly learned it was the blender door for air circulation, or some such. I also learned by the Carfax report that this piece had been replaced on this car 4 times prior to 36,000 miles when the owner traded it in. I have replaced it, which while easy to replace, is simply a pain in the ass due to the small space to work in. The one on the drivers side went out shortly after and was a little easier to get to.

Impala LT V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 120,000 miles

Annoying knocking noise, seemed to happen when I turned my AC to heat or vise versa. Sometimes the knocking noise would be faster and loud, other times it would be a slower knocking and more quiet. Sounded like it was coming from right under my radio. Even when the car was shut off it would still do it. ANNOYING!

I can't believe that no one knows anything abou it, when I have talked to other people and have seen other complaints write. What's up with this?

Impala

  • Automatic transmission

Why isn't there a recall on this matter if mostly all newer models are experiencing this annoying tapping noise in the vehicle. Is it just random that these cars have the same situation. Seems like a defect to me.

Impala LT 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 110,000 miles

When I shut the car off or open the passenger side door a loud knocking starts up. It is definitely in the dash on the passenger side. It takes about 3 minutes for the knocking to stop. I hope it is not the air bag.
