Impala V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 82,000 miles

I didn't understand why I had to keep putting in power steering fluid all the time. The steering whined a lot.

Impala

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles

AND ONLY 30,000 miles : after dealing with the key recall I was surprised to have this problem HOWEVER, when I bought the car there was a "noise" I told the dealer and salesman. They of course didn't hear it but myself and others did. So here we are 5 years later and this steering gear breaks.. I started hearing a loud noise on the right front side of the engine... it was like metal on metal and would do it when I first started the car (car in garage)

I thought it might be dry fan belt but it wasn't. The noise got softer as the car was run. So today when I backed out of the garage the noise was really loud and another noise was coming from the left front tire. I had heard that noise since I had the front end aligned. Iit was difficult to turn the wheel so I felt it might need power steering fluid.. I had had enough of the noise, and was afraid to drive it.

I took it to dealer who informed me that it needs the new steering gear, new alignment and another part which I forget. Total near or above $1,000 I Am supposed to pick it up Monday..

ATTENTION CHEVROLET... I AM SOOO DISAPPOINTED THAT YOUR CAR ARE TRASH.. WHEN I WAS A KID CHEVYS WERE THE BOMB. NOW THEY ARE THE BOMB BUT IN A BAD WAY..... GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER>>> MAKE YOUR CARS BETTER>>>>> I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER CHEVY IN MY LIFETIME>>>!!!!!!!
