Front rotors were warped and heat scorned at 8K, 20K, and 23K miles...Chevrolet will not re-purchase my car and I have noticed this problem is becoming frequent across the country with Malibu's when checking internet message boards and talking to people about their Malibu rotor experience. This is a serious safety defect!

In the 10 months that we have owned that car, they have had to replace the rotors three times. Each time they have told us that the 2000 Malibu's have this problem, yet GM hasn't recalled them. I've had two other mechanics look at the latest set and they want to know why there is so much play in the rotors. The rotors, they say, don't fit on the wheel studs right. The studs are not in the center of the holes on the rotors. I asked the service dept at stadium about this but they have yet to return my call.

In both failures the service support was not in excisting, or very insulting, both problems have injury or death possibilitys, rotor warranty only 12.000 miles, but the problem is a defect which is in all models starting in 1998 till now.it is not acceptable, every 7000 miles new rotors or die?? engine losing power at high speed and grouded freeway, no power steering or brakes, no warning. Dealer tells me there are no codes and it runs well, after dealer told wife to remove vehicle,18 miles later, car is stuck again, Chevrolet assistant service said perhaps wife can push the car to the right.must we tolerate this, and a sales person knows about the bullitins, and will say that there is no rotor problem, brand new vehicle, never miss work, losing job, home and wife because of no error codes.so much for empty promises.service manager dont care if you die or live, dealer has his 22.000.00 and tells you to remove your junk.Chevy image is clouded and not honest.
