2009 Chevrolet Malibu. Consumer writes in regards to body control module connection system recall reimbursement. The consumer stated in June 2014, the vehicle wasn't running smoothly. It seemed to exhibit a jerk motion and felt as though it was going to stall. The ESC light would illuminate and then go out. The dealer made some repairs on June on June 27, 2014. After the repairs were made, the consumer received a recall letter. However, the parts were not available. GM informed the consumer, the repairs were not covered by the recall. According to the invoice, the fuel injector wire was replaced. Recall # 14V252000 updated 12/30/15.

Woke one morning and noticed a strong smell of gas coming from the rear of the vehicle. Also noticed that gas in the tank was at a much lower level than when the car was last operated. I believed that gas was leaking into the trunk so I took the car to local service center at Nissan because that is where I purchased the vehicle. Nissan said that fuel pump is cracked and emitting gasoline vapors. Took vehicle to three way Chevrolet because they are the manufacturer of the vehicle. I believed that they may have more information possibly concerning a recall. Alexander irizarry (a service adviser) said that fuel pumps fail all the time and he doesn't know why it cracked. He also claimed that when parts fail it is normal to put the driver in danger such as if brakes go out or a tire blows from poor maintenance. Asked for $1200 to replace the part. I am concerned that if he replaces it with another defective part that later on the pump will fail and emit gas vapors leading to a fire or an explosion. Three way released the car to me with no warning of not to drive it. Vehicle operates fine with no check engine light.

I have a gas leak coming from the top of my gas tank. I noticed GM has had recalls for this on certain vehicles but not for my specific vehicle(09 Chevy Malibu). I have read online and several other 09 Chevy Malibu owners have the same problem. I called the Chevy dealership and they said there is no recall and cannot help me.

I began to smell gas around my car one day, noticed the next day there was a puddle of fuel under my vehicle. After inspecting the vehicle for the source of the leak we found that there is a plastic adapter that plugs a fuel line into the fuel pump that is cracked and bubbling gas.
