The air bag sensor light came on as a result of a wreck caused by another party and will not go off. The claims adjuster told me that the "at fault party's insurance" will not cover it because they could not determine without certainty that it wasn't on before the accident and that this was a common problem with 2011 Malibu's but there wasn't a recall on this part. Not happy about this annoying light which a constant reminder that I am driving a faulty vehicle and could be seriously injured.

The air bag light came on and is always illuminated. I asked about repairing it and they didn't have any one to do it. Also when my teenagers are in the passenger front seat they must not weigh enough (110 lbs and 120 lbs approx) because the air bag is lit up as off. In addition my driver's seat belt clicks but isn't registering and I get the warnings that it's off. The alarm light is always lit

With as many complaints on the "Air Bag System" staying illuminated, there has got to be some kind of issue with Chevrolet manufacturer/supplier of part / system that is causing this issue with so many Chevy Malibu owners. Why won't they cover / accept responsibility and offer fix at no cost to consumer and/or issue a recall.

Scared that the air bag may deploy bc the service air bag light cones on for weeks then goes out until the next go around.
