lost power steering

BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW 8 MONTHS AGO MY FIRST NEW CAR. I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE IN VA. WITH MY 14YR OLD SON WHEN I SUDDENLY LOST STEERING. THE WHEELS OF CAR WERE TILTED TO RIGHT SO I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN & GET CAR OFF ROAD. AFTER SHOCK WORE OFF I TRIED TO MOVE STEERING WHEEL AGAIN & IT WORKED. I USED ON STAR AND TOOK CAR TO THE NEAREST CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. THEY COULDN'T HELP ME OR GIVE ME A COURTESY CAR & SAID TO DRIVE IT HOME TO SC. I DROVE THE CAR HOME PULLED INTO THE DRIVEWAY. I OPENED UP THE DOOR TO GET OUT, GRABBED THE STEERING WHEEL, BECAUSE I AM HANDICAPPED, AND THE STEERING WHEEL CAME BACK & HIT ME IN THE CHEST. HAVE BEEN CALLING GM & CHEVROLET FOR OVER A MONTH & THEY SAID THEY ARE INVESTIGATING. THE INVESTIGATOR CAME OUT AND TOOK PICTURES, PLACED THE STEERING WHEEL IN THE BACKSEAT OF THE CAR. WHEN HE FIRST GOT THERE HE OPENED UP THE DOOR AND SAID"WELL THIS IS A NEW ONE. NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE." SO NOW I MUST RELY ON FAMILY & FRIENDS FOR TRANSPORTATION FOR ME & MY 14YR OLD SON. NICE!!!!!!!! NEW ISN'T ALWAYS BETTER. SOMETIMES WORSE IF YOU CAN'T GET SOMETHING RESOLVED.
