Both front back rest would move while traveling (would not lock in place) vehicle taken to independence repairs shop for repairs; condition was still reoccurring. Independence repairs shop took vehicle to dealer and was informed that the seat only would lock when brake are applyed. Can NHTSA share some light on this matter.

Driver's and passenger's seatbacks do not lock in the upright position. Seats were designed to only lock up upon applying brakes.

While driving driver's seat does not lock, allowing seatback to fall forward while driving. Dealers noted this is the design of vehicle, and seatback only locks in an accident.
