Well GMC I don't even know where to start. 1st my transmission is stalling and seems like it is having a hard time shifting from 2nd to3rd gear there for stalling consistently as soon as the cars RPM goes to 2 and before 3 I have taken it various times to get it fixed and has been very costly and still the problem exists. 2. the security light come on and locks the car from starting almost 3 to 4 times daily took it to get fixed they ended up replacing ignition switch ignition holder everything on the inside of ignition over $1000. 3 electrical problem that causes signal lights to not work and sensors are. All out of whack during the day lights are on at night they don't turn on the ac seems to B stuck on feet and face almost as if it was clogged.5.the front right wheel shaking N vibrates every time you go above 60mph or turning.6. the fuel system went out the fuel pump the fuel sensor the actual fuel gauge stopped working.7.the transmission line on the bottom popped off as I was on the freeway spraying transmission oil all over the place almost causing an accident. And the list goes on and on...

The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The contact stated that the manifold exploded as he tried to start the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure was the second occurrence. The contact called the manufacturer and inquired about NHTSA campaign id number: 040V090000 (fuel system: Gasoline) and was told that the vehicle was not included in the recall campaign. The manufacturer was contacted but provided no assistance. The failure and current mileage was 130,000.

This car is falling apart and I just bought it 2 weeks ago I have no money to get it fixed and im scared for my child's safety to be in it. Iv talked to some owners of the identical car and they are having the same issues. These problems need to be fixed and now!

1. took my car in for service for an intermittent "check engine" light. Service required was a purge solenoid for the charcoal cannister. 2. after returning the car home and it sitting for a couple days, I went to start the car and the battery was dead. Jumped the battery with another car and when I went to turn the key in the Monte Carlo, the intake manifold exploded in about 20 different pieces in a deafening explosion. 3. nothing has been done to repair yet, but the damage is catastrophic. I'm looking at $$$$$ repair. I have pictures of it if needed. If I had been standing over the engine and my wife had turned the key I would be looking at a hospital stay.

We have 2 Monte carlos, a 2000 and 2004, both of these had sensors go out of the gas gauge. In talking with some others, theirs did too. Royal Chevrolet in bloomington, in charges almost $500 for this. I feel since this is happening a lot to this brand of car, it should be recalled.

On December 24, 2004 in the evening my vehicle which is a 2000 Chevy Monte carlos would not start at the mall. My husband and I proceeded to try to get the vehicle to start. However, it didn't start. We the vehicle try to start after trying to start it "back fire" causing the upper manifold, the engine cover, gaskets and oil cap having to be replace. We had the vehicle to be towed to our home. Then, we had charlie jones, of jones mechic and heavy equipment to come and look at the vehicle. He stated that because we continue to try to start the vehicle fuel in the lines build up causing the vehicle to back fire. Well after we got the vehicle repair we receive a recall notice from Chevy telling customers of a fuel regulator which is faulty and can cause the vehicle to back fire when battery is low. Exactly what had happen to my car. How ever if though Chevy acknowledge the default they denied to pay me back my expense. Their recalls states everything that would happen to my car. I'm just so upset because I found out that although the battery was low the car shouldn't have back fire if it wasn't for the recall part.
