The P0420 converter failed is a Engine performance problem. I had a dealer look at my SSR. Said need to replace converters. WRONG! Need to make sure that Electrical & Ignition is working. Check MAF & MAP air filter, The fuel system including Gasoline in Tank. Check Emissions too. O2 Sensors & any signs of damage to exhaust including leaks. Dealers are unfamiliar with the SSR. On a Trailblazer Chassis, Corvette LS 1 Vortec Motor & a Unibody on Frame construction. Go to SSR fanatics web site & look up Dictator. He has many Videos & helpful instructions to keep your SSR on the road.
