Easy fix. Check that all spark plugs and coils are in working order. Can cause catalytic converter damage if not fixed.

Silverado 4.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 120,000 miles

My 2000 Silverado starts to shudder and surge at highway speeds, around 70 mph and not when I'm accelerating. Service engine light comes on and blinks but after a day will shut off. My brother told me its a misfire and check spark plug gap A few months ago the engine light came on and I had the code checked. It recommended a new fuel cap or evap canister. The light went off so I never fixed anything because it seem to run fine. Could these two this be related? It has new plugs, wires, fuel pump, filter, coil, rotor, cap. Any help?
