Vehicle has intermitten reduced engine display while traveling down the high way. Causes the vehicle to downshift and significantly increase engine RPM. I-??m fearing if this continues to happen it will blow up my engine. The ecu shows code p2138. After some research I-??ve learned GM is aware of this fsult in their vehicles and I believe they should be the one paying for their mistake. Not me.

This problem was a recall and was repaired before at no cost. Now it is happening again. I took a 100 mile round trip day trip...on the way back I got a steering warning that flashed 2 times on my dashboard while going 75 mph on the highway. Then when turning into my subdivision the truck stalled and I lost all power steering. This happened one other time in a home depot parking lot. I feel the truck is unsafe to drive. And I haul a 36 foot travel trailer occasionally. Obviously this is the second time the same thing has happened...the first time it was a free recall repair...please advise on how to proceed. I plan to trade the truck in asap due to the fact that my husband and I are up in age and no longer able to travel.

Vehicle steering is interrupted while in motion and turning. ( ~10 mph city streets) vehicle shuts off at low speed or after idleing and vehicle is placed into drive from park.(city streets 0-7mph) while at highway speeds speed/cruse control disengages (shuts off) when right turn signal is activated. (multiple hwy speed ranges' 50-75 mph) note'-date below is the latest of these repeated issues. The three events described have repeated occasionally recurred since ownership. Now steering interruption and vehicle losing power after idleing more frequent. Speed/cruse control disengagement when signal light is activated is also recurring.

I was driving on the interstate with cruise control set, and whenever I would signal left to merge into the other lane, the cruise would disengage. I could reset it as usual immediately afterwards, but it had done this before, so I tested multiple times and received the same response almost every time. The dash lights would flicker, as well as mylink window in center console area. It would also go nuts if I rolled up the window and hold a second past the time window was completely up. I had multiple lights within dash light up, then go off (really scary). Happened too fast to tell what lights lit up. Additionally, my power steering went out as I was slowly turning into driveway of my friend's house. He even commented it looked like I was having trouble with the turn, so it wasn't just my imagination. This episode has happened several times before, almost as if the engine had died (but it had not done so). I have read where this was a recall on other models of Chevy trucks, but found no recall information on my VIN. All I know is that if my electronics and/or my steering go out while going down the road and I wreck, GM will have major legal issues on their hands. I have been a lifelong Chevy owner and always keep my vehicles in tip-top shape. Therefore, this is a manufacturer's issue that needs resolved before lives are lost.

Product safety recall 17276 loss of steering assist -- my truck is not involved in this recall, but I am having the exact issues described in the recall, sudden loss and return of eps assist. This happens at low speeds when turning or backing, both forward and reverse motions. I am also having issues with the cruise control shutting off intermittently when activating the turn indicator to change lanes. I understand that this may be related to this recall, as the electrical software issues can cause other electrical systems to become temporarily disabled, such as the radio, stabilitrack, dic, chimes, door-lock cycling, air conditioning, or cruise control. Also, when the turn indicator is activated and the cruise control shuts off, the dash lights also flicker. I have already had this truck in to the dealer once to fix this, and they refused to run the recall because my truck was not in the recall group. Instead they charged me over $1,000 to replace a steering wheel position sensor, which I now doubt was the problem since the issues with loss of steering and disabling of cruise control have returned. I just want this fixed.

My Silverado frequently "shuts off" when I am making turns. This is extremely dangerous - the latest time I was pulling out into traffic and the engine and all electrical parts turn off. I was nearly hit by another vehicle. There was a recall for this exact issue and my local Chevrolet dealer said they have "fixed it". I keep bringing the truck back to them, but they won't attempt to fix it again citing lemon laws because they can't get the truck to replicate the issue. I am beyond frustrated and at this point concerned about the safety of my children and myself as I drive.

Steer assist and stabilitrak errorr messages. Says to service. My A/C unit is also affected by this. It appears that it may have been part of the recall #17276 but according to the dealer our VIN did not pull it up. The vehicle pulls and steering becomes difficult. A/C unit blows out hot air. When in cruise control sometimes the vehicle accelerates on its own and the rpms shoot up. Have to break and decrease speed for problem to be resolved before resetting cruise control.

While driving with cruise control engaged and a signal light is used, cruise is disengaged or if the windows are rolled up or down then cruise will be disengaged. This action will also cause the instrument cluster to dim when the signal is used or windows rolled up or down. If I turn the vehicle off and restart the vehicle it will clear up and may go another hour before it does it again. This is getting progressively worse and sometimes flashes a warning in the drivers information center, stabilitrak disabled and steering assist disabled drive with caution. Again if I turn the vehicle off and restart it it will work just fine for a while. This does seem to happen more when I have driven the vehicle for at least one hour. This started happening approx 6 months ago with cruise being disengaged and the dash lights dimming while using the signal lights or the window switch. The stabilitrak and steering warnings started 03/19/2017. On 03/20/2017 I had driven the vehicle about 2 miles and was pulling into a parking spot at a low speed when the steering wheel was ripped from my hands. The last incident was on April 8th while pulling a trailer with the tow haul mode engaged. I was attempting to pass a vehicle and kicked the vehicle into passing gear when the stabilitrak and steering warning both came on.

This failure has occurred quite a few times. Driving home then turning left the steering wheel locked up and shook violently back and forth. I almost hit a car in the opposite lane due to the loss of vehicle control. When this happened the lights on the dash, radio, ac fan all flickered and suddenly the truck shut off. I turned it back on and drove with similar issues and warning lights on the dash telling me the steering assist is off and service stabilitrak. When I pushed the window control up with the window shut the same thing happened again shutting the cruise control off when I used the turn signal. I'm worried about my family's safety the dealership said they couldn't duplicate and can't "find the fault code" which I find ridiculous with electronic technology controlling everything. They should be able to fix this serious safety problem.

Vehicle is presently at the dealership for the fifth time. While driving with cruise, when changing lanes after turn signal is used the cruise shuts down. On several occasions while in the middle of a turn the dash lights flash, locks flip up N down, steering wheel jerks back N forth then vehicle dies. The incident that is reason for being in the shop now is, while in a parking lot, steering locked N unlocked, door locks again flipped up N down, vehicle died with no power. Could not unlock the vehicle, no power what so ever, key would no turn. Eventually I heard a psst noise and the power came back. The previous times taken to the dealer, I'm always told, cannot duplicate. This is a danger to me, my family. After being a faithful GM fan for over 40+ years they have lost this guy to another make of vehicle, especially after reading so many of the same complaints, as I, without resolve. They have lost my trust.

I purchased the vehicle, brand new in may of 2014. The first malfunction of the vehicle was June 19 2014. The steering wheel, ignition, and cylinder remained locked and I was restrained from starting vehicle I contacted Chevrolet roadside assistance in which they were no assistance.I was able to start car after aprox 30min. The second malfunction was in March 2015. My truck turned off while driving on the freeway in the fast lane causing loss of power steering, speed and all functions of the vehicle. Onstar and highway patrol were contacted and highway patrol assisted in pushing vehicle to the shoulder. The third incident was July 30. Immediately after taking my truck into paradise Chevrolet for an oil change. A gas attendee noticed I was leaking oil. The oil cap had not been tightened causing oil leakage. The most recent event was August 11,2015. My vehicle turned off once again while being driven on the highway with my husband and five month old daughter in it, causing loss of power steering, speed and all functions of the truck. The vehicle did restart aprox.20min after.however, when restarted the truck made a noticeably shakey motion. Both events in which the vehicle turned off while driving were followed shortly after paradise Chevrolet of ventura ca "upgraded software", without my knowledge. Both times I went in for an oil change and I was informed after the fact that they had upgraded software/ preformed a "recall".

While driving, slowed the vehicle down to start a decent in the road, once vehicle reached level ground, I pushed the accelerator pedal, and vehicle would only rev up, would not got forward, while in drive. This continued until the vehicle was close to 5 mph, then vehicle started moving as the accelerator pedal was pushed. This has happened on several times, and the dealer states that they cannot duplicate the occurrence. Tried to record the occurrence, but with the constant turning of the steering wheel, makes it hard to record for proof.

I was going North when a vehicle suddenly stopped in front of me. I braked as quickly as possible, the 2014 Chevy Silverado that I was driving only slowly came to a stop. Unfortunately, I rearended another vehicle. Thankfully I had not gotten up to the speed limit (30mph) and was only going 20mph. My truck would not brake quickly. No screeching tires, no black marks on the road. The stop was so slow that I had time to turn the steering wheel and only damage part of my front end. The grill, bumper, and hood were smashed in. No airbags came out of the truck, and my onstar service sensor did not go off.
