Silverado 1500 Hybrid 8-cyl Diesel

I experienced a failure of the BOSCH 4.2 fuel rail pump while driving on Interstate 65 North near Louisville KY at night and my truck had a dead pedal and was unable to accelerate any and I was in the right lane going over a bridge and two tractor trailers were in each lane behind me and having been on the bridge I was unable to leave the lane of travel until I had completely transversed the bridge I was traveling over. I did engage my emergency flashers immediately but having the trucks side by side and the truck in my lane traveling at highway speeds I was almost struck from behind as the tractor trailer applied his brakes and was able to avoid the collision luckily. I took my truck to the local dealership and was told what the issue was and I had it fixed immediately. The price of the repair was $10,362.64 give or take a few dollars. I had a warranty but that company refused to pay since it's not considered part of the engine. Dodge has issued a Recall for the exact same part as far as I am understanding but yet Chevrolet/GMC has not. Thank you very much [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Driving at approx 35-40 mph approaching a hairpin turn tried to break and vehicle did not slow down slid through the corner into a rock, put the vehicle is reverse and pressed accelerator the vehicle RPM increased on own tried to break the RPM did not diminish(foot off accelerator) before I had time to shut the truck off I hit a tree behind me. It appears something stuck in accelerator (mechanical) or the computer system( electronics) failed. The vehicle has not yet been tested.

After passing two cars at high speed with accelerator floored pedal was stuck to floor.tried to pull it up with foot, could not, vehicle kept accelerating past 100mph. Had ride brake until speed was slowed enough to put in neutral and shut off and coast to stop. Cruise control was engaged at the time. After putting in park and starting all was fine. Dealer kept truck for a few a days and found nothing wrong. Mentioned floor mat which was ridiculous.

Silverado 1500 Hybrid 4WD 8-cyl

  • 20 miles
The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that while driving in first gear and taking the foot off the accelerator pedal to apply the brakes, the engine RPM's would not decrease and the throttle would not release for approximately 3-4 seconds. The failure caused abnormal forward movement from the vehicle. The contact also stated that while driving in first gear and shifting into neutral, the engine RPM's increased by approximately 200 ripens before decreasing. The vehicle was diagnosed at the dealer but the cause of the defect could not be determined. The contact stated that a representative from the manufacturer came to the home and drove the vehicle. The representative experienced the defect while driving the vehicle but did not identify the cause of the defect. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 20. Updated 03/11/14 the consumer stated by the time his foot reached the brake pedal, the engine was holding a constant 1400 RPM, resulting in not only trying to slow the mass of the vehicle, but also attempting to brake against an engine locked at 1400 RPM. The consumer also stated that he removed his foot from the accelerator as a test and then popped the steering column gear shifter into neutral and the engine gained another 200 RPM for 3-4 seconds. Silverado 1500 Hybrid 4WD 8-cyl

  • 1,500 miles
Transmission down shifts multiple gears when I decelerate. The first occurrence happened at 70 mph causing a very hard deceleration and near loss of control of the truck. I have had three other like incidences at speeds between 45 and 70 mph. These happened on dry pavement and I was able to slow safely. Had this occurred on wet or snow covered roads, I have no doubt there would have been an accident. 2. at times when I accelerate there is no throttle response for several seconds. When the engine does respond, the truck accelerates as if I have the throttle floored. Again this has happened on dry pavement. Slick conditions would have caused a spin out. 3. vehicle surges between 20 and 45 mph. Engine RPM continually jumps 200-300 RPM causing constant surging. Besides being very annoying, it would be dangerous on icy roads.
