In June of 2005 I purchased a 2005 Chevrolet 2500hd with the camp extendable mirrors. Upon leaving the dealership I called the sales rep and told him the mirrors were shaking and I could not identify vehicles behind me. I was told don't worry for I will have replacement mirrors ordered tomorrow. I was allowed by GM a replacement of the drivers side only for it was the worst. The replacement provides no change per the service technician, but he was not allowed to order another mirror for GM had released a bulletin of the mirror issue. I contacted GM receiving no recourse and no issue date of a possible fix. On 11-28 2005 I was involved in a accident because I believe I was staring in the mirror and side swiped a dump truck that crossed the median, and I did not react in time to avoid this accident. I have filed for the Florida lemon law because GM tells me "it's only mirrors and we know about it so when there is a fix you will be notified. The 2006's have the cure!!!

Drivers-side outside rear view mirror shakes excessively, rendering it useless. Dealer replaced the mirror, but stated the problem was most likely with the aftermarket bug shield on the hood. After replacement the mirror still shook. I removed the bug shield, which took care of the problem. Dealer stated that a GM bug shield was designed not to cause the disturbance that causes the mirror to shake.
