Spark LT 1.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 49,966 miles

First, I love my Chevy spark. I bought it through Hertz rental car sales, in Riverside California and I highly recommend them. BUT... To only have my car for a few months and have a problem is really irritating. I looked up the check engine light problems on the net, and didn't find much hope, I took it to J& L auto in Corona, and it didn't take them long to find the problem. The problem came when - what was causing it, The mechanic is a miracle worker, after a short time he found my fuel injector needed replacing. Wasn't my spark plugs, or coil that was causing a rough start, or my engine light saying I was losing power. If your mechanic doesn't have a piece of equipment that plugs into the right lower side plug by the driver side, take your spark someplace else. My code was PO301 - cylinder misfire #1 Perform injection flow test #1 injection plugged They also found that my coolant system had a problem before I did, My reserve tank had a small leak. So a pressure check found the issue and with a replacement tank, I am good for the upcoming summer. I have my oil changed on time, and my car check out, this car should last me for the rest of my life - since I am 66, I expect this to be my last car. I am glad I bought this car. And double glad I got the extended warranty .

Spark 1.2L L4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 400 miles

Check engine light came on after 400 miles, I took it to the dealership I bought it from. No one called me after two days, I called them and they said that it was a minor problem and that the part needed was on back order, but the car was safe to drive, however the check engine light would remain on. I thought about it and called back saying I didn't want the car back if it wasn't fixed, and the serviceman rudely and aggressively said I had no choice, they weren't going to pay for a rental or give me a loaner, so take the car back.

I called and emailed the service manager and general manager, no one responded for another two days, after repeatedly calling I got the service manager. He said that it was a minor problem and that they wouldn't pay for a rental car. When I mentioned that in the owner's manual it says driving with the check engine light on can cause damage, he said it didn't matter because the engine was being replaced. This was news to me. I said I wasn't taking the car back in it's condition, and he said well the general manager won't be in until Monday so call back then.

Long story short I went into the dealership the next day, complained, they gave me a loaner and the car ended up being repurchased by GM.
