2000 Chevrolet Suburban problems with the hoist mechanism that is holding the spare tire underneath of the vehicle. The tire dealer was unable to release the spare tire, because the hoist mechanism was corroded. Another dealership informed the consumer it was not uncommon for the mechanism to become frozen from corrosion. The dealer was unable to lubricate it, so therefore the entire unit had to be replaced.
