I noticed water in behind my front passenger seat. The rug was drenched. Thought my son had dumped a cup of water. But when a week went by and it never dried up, I thought the gasket around my rear passenger window wasn't sealed properly. I took it to the dealer and they promptly told me what I've been reading all night long. The 1999-2000 GMC Yukon/Chevy Suburban/Tahoe have all reported this same problem. Upon removal of the carpets and the rubber mats, they found that the water leak spread to the rear storage compartment of my vehicle. The only way to fix this is to have the dealer take out all the seats, remove the carpet and rubber mats and let it dry manually. It stems from the rear tire well. That is about as definitive of an answer as I could get. [The A/C hose was ruled out. So it's definitely the rear tire well] I have no idea what they will do to fix this, but apparently, they fix quite alot of them. I would consider not getting a Suburban again just for this reason. I think it should've been recalled and paid for by GM!!! I was quoted a price of between $500-1000 to fix it. I'm planning on trading it.
