IN SPITE OF OPENING THE REAR GLASS LESS THAN 10 TIMES OVER THE LAST 4 YEARS, THE REAR GLASS BROKE AWAY FROM THE RT HINGE. CHEVY REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR CITING MY HIGH MILEAGE. UNLESS THEY THINK I HAD MY KIDS RIDING ON THE REAR BUMPER OPENING AND CLOSING THE REAR GLASS AS I DROVE THOSE 106,000 MILES, I'M NOT SURE HOW MILEAGE HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT. NEVERTHELESS, IT WAS AN OBVIOUS MANUFACTURER DEFECT THAT CHEVY WOULD NOT STAND BEHIND. IMAGINE SHELLING OUT $38,000 4 YEARS AGO, FINDING OUT THAT I WOULD BE LUCKY TO GET $11,000 ON A TRADE IN TODAY, AND THEN HAVE CHEVY NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR DESIGN FLAWS. I UNDERSTAND THAT CHEVY CHANGED THE DESIGN THE NEXT YEAR. HMMMMMMM.

The rear glass hinge broke loose on its own. We hardly use the window, mostly opening the liftgate to access the rear compartment. Now GMPP extended warranty says it's not their problem because they don't cover glass. This is a structural failure, folks. The glue that GM uses to attach the hinge to the glass is faulty, as you can see by the other complaints. This may well be my last Chevrolet after many loyal years. My final decision rests in the hands of GM's customer service department.

Just found out last month that the passenger side hinge on the rear hatch glass failed!!
After a short Google search, I find that this is a huge problem across multiple years and that I will probably have to cough up the approx. $1000.00 to get it fixed.
I've been a Chevy fan since I was a kid but no more!!!!
Bought a 2000 Explorer a couple of years ago for $500.00 with 120000 miles on it, put another 30k on it since, and I have yet to have to do any thing but put tires on it.
