Tahoe LTZ 5.3 Liter

  • Automatic transmission
  • 56,500 miles

Car has been riding roughly. Dealership found a leaking “strut” and initially quoted a $2000 repair cost. My extended warranty company covers struts, but not shocks, which they claim there are because of the “coil spring over” design. Are they struts or shocks?? It's ridiculous. Air conditioner is busted now also. Dealership also found a transmission fluid leak and an oil line leak at this time. I went in for an oil change and a brake recall issue and came out with a $4700 repair/maintenance estimate!

These problems exposed both GM and my extended warranty company in my eyes (I’ll go off on the warranty company with the BBB). I bought this car new for nearly $60,000. Shame on you GM. Last Chevy I buy! Last Chevy my family buys. No more Chevy advocacy from me GM. Only warnings to anyone who will listen. Shame on you GM. By the way, the dealership was the bright spot in this mess. They worked through the problems with me superbly.

Tahoe LTZ

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

The first time I had this issue I had to have my front shocks replaced due to a leak on the left side and I believe I only had 60k miles on it them...maybe less. The noise happened again at 90k and the same thing, had to have my front shocks replaced due to leak on left front side...$2,050 each occurrence.

Tahoe LTZ 5.3 LITER

  • Automatic transmission
  • 38,200 miles

First, it was the A/C Compressor failing middle 2017 Summer, now a front passenger side Strut Leak, that is not covered under Extended Warranty. I've never owned a Tahoe with these failure issues. Last 5 have been great vehicles, other than keeping the Mule Deer away from 2007 Tahoe and Crazy lady pulling into the airport parking garage during a spring break trip and trying to back out the entry, just smashing the heck out of the front end of the 2008 Tahoe, and unable to react in reverse fast enough.

Update from Sep 28, 2018: Both front struts were leaking per invoice.
