The tachometer needle points straight down and does not respond to engine speed. According to information online, the problem will progress to the other gauges inside the instrument panel of my vehicle. It will be a safety issue when the speedometer stops working. GM has made repairs for some models but not the Trailblazer.

I own a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer that recently has began to give me problems with the instrument panel not reading correctly. My speedometer sits at 0 even when I'm doing 65 mph. My tach reads the same. Upon checking this out, I found that this is a ongoing problem with this particular vehicle that GM has no recall as of to date. Other have issues with their gas, voltmeters and oip pressure gauges. I find these issues not only annoying but unsafe while going down the freeway not knowing if your speed is correct. The average cost of repairs for this is about $500 to $700. There are many of these cases going on with this particular vehicle. A safety recall would be nice.

While driving along my tachometer and speedometer on my 2004 Chevy Trailblazer dip below zero. I took it to my mechanic who said the electrical is shot in the dashboard area. My vehicle has to be running for 30 min or more for it to act up. If I leave cruise control on the needle stays, once cruise is turned off I'm doing (hopefully) 70 while my speedometer says I'm doing 20. Searching on the internet I'm not the first to complain about this. Has Chevy recalled the dashboard unit in the 2004 Trailblazer yet?

Speedometer on my 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer no longer functions properly. Shows the vehicle is moving at 15 - 20 mph sitting in the garage. Have no idea how fast the vehicle is traveling when driving on the road. GM has recalled the full size vehicles (I.e. Tahoe/escalade) that have exhibited the same failure mode in the instrument cluster. The Trailblazer/Envoy chassis use the same cluster as the full size vehicles, no idea why they are not included in the recall.

2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer speedometer is consistently incorrect. The speedometer will frequently reset the point of zero mph. E.g. zero will be set at 50 mph so when the vehicle is actually traveling 20 mph, the speedometer will read 70 mph. The only way to reset the point of zero is to turn the vehicle off and start the car over and over again, lowering the point of zero by about 5 mph at each vehicle start.

I purchase brand new 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer 3.2L V6 as of right now it only has 25,800 original mils. And all the gauges on the instrument panel (oil pressure, speedometer, fuel, and tachometer has stop working while on the highway my god that was scary. Also, this has drain the battery had to replace it the cluster instrument panel is being replace it is coasting me $580. I think there should be a recall on this issue due to this can cause traffic accident. As I was at the Chevrolet dealership at the service center today there was another Trailblazer with the same problem.

The speedometer on my 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer gives the incorrect speed most of the time. When I compare the speedometer reading to my gps, it will sometimes read anywhere from 10 to 40 miles per hour too high or too low. The temperature gauge is also malfunctioning. I had a similar problem with my 2003 Chevrolet Silverado and the instrument cluster was replaced under a recall. At this time, no recall has been issued by GM for my 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Why has Chevy not included the 2004 Trailblazer on their recall list when thousands of people around the country are posting problems with their instrument clusters? my entire panel goes in and out but mostly out. I never know if I need gas or how fast I am going. Some of the time every light that is built in the dash is on at the same time. 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer instrument cluster intermittently works. Sometimes one thing works, sometimes none, sometimes all. ABS light flashes on and off causing warning bell to ring intermittently.
