Trailblazer

  • 32,000 miles
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While driving 55 mph, the anti-theft system flashed three times on the instrument panel before the fuel line failed. The vehicle lost power and the contact managed to pull the vehicle over and turn it completely off. After 15 minutes, she attempted to restart the vehicle and then turned it back off. She restarted the vehicle a few times before driving back on the freeway. The dealer performed a diagnostic, but there were no failure codes showing up on the computer. The dealer discovered that the ignition switch shorted internally. They replaced the ignition switch, but were unable to confirm if the vehicle is permanently repaired. The current and failure mileages were 32,000. Updated 08/14/09. The consumer stated since the dealer replaced the ignition switch, the vehicle continues to shut off because there is a problem with the anti-theft system. Updated 08/17/09.
