Traverse LS V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 53,200 miles

WE GOT THE CAR MARCH 7,2018....7 DAYS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, SERVICE STABILITRACK, AND REDUCE ENGINE SPEED TO 25MPH ALL COME ON AT THE SAME TIME.

WE PULLED INTO AUTOZONE TO GET THE CODE FOR IT THE CODES READ P2122.

WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WE GOT IT FROM THEY SAID THEY'D CHECK IT OUT IN A WEEK!

THAT WAS "TWINS AUTO" BTW!....THE LIGHT WAS OFF BY THE DAY THE NEXT WEEK THEY SAID TO BRING IT BACK OF COURSE...THE SERVICE PPL SAID THE CODES WE TOLD THEM ABT WAS UNDER OUR WARRANTY BUT THEY WOULDNT COVER IT UNLESS THEY HAD PROOF OF IT HAPPENING IN FRONT OF THEM.. NOT EVEN WITH THE PAPER WITH THE CODE ON IT,,WE WERRE TURNED AWAY..IT HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AFTER ITS REALLY SCARY CAUSE YOU HAVE TO PULL OVER NO MATTER WHERE YOUR AT DRIVING!!

ONE TIME I WAS ABLE TO RECORD IT HAPPENING... I TOOK IT BACK UP THERE THEY ACTUALLY RESET THE SYSTEM..THEY SAID ITS SHOWING THOSE ERROR LIGHTS FOR NO REASON!

4/22/18 IT HAPPENED AGAIN 2X'S IN ONE DAY 8 HRS APART..ONLY THING IS I GOT INTO A VERY BAD ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF IT GM HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM BUT OF COURSE THEY DENIED OUR CLAIM..AS IF ALLLLL OF THES SAME COMPLAINTS DONT EXIST! WHICH IS VERY TROUBLING TO ME ...ESPACIALLY AFTER READING ALL OF THE EXACT ISSUES SEEMS AS IF THEY'D CORRECT THIS PROBLEM...DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THIS PROBLEM,,,ALSO THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED..THEY SEEM TO NOT THINK ITS THEIR PROBLEM!

Traverse LT2 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 71,000 miles

Traverse has had multiple problems with electrical system. This is a 2016 with 71,000 miles (mostly freeway).

First occurrence was the reduced engine power - pulled over, turned off and went away. Next was the display/radio not working correctly - ended up working after 3-4 cycles off & on. Next was another reduced engine power - waited for 10 minutes with car off and worked ok again.

Now the bad parts......Started car up and felt different when I put it into reverse - kind of a hard shift. Then put into drive and felt almost no power. I started moving forward slowly and then gained enough speed so that I was eventually going about 30 mph and felt like I had regular power again. Slowed to a stop and same thing - like I was stuck in 3rd or 4th gear. It wouldn't shift higher than that either. Brought it into transmission shop close by and they had about 20 codes that they erased and said they couldn't help. Brought it to dealer and they found issue with battery - replaced it. Seemed to work for 200 miles then more problems.

Next, it wouldn't start - not even turn over. I disconnected the battery and then it worked, started up and away I went. Had the reduced engine power come on again (stabilitrack issue) several times and same with starting. I would just disconnect battery and reconnect. Brought it into dealer where I got new battery and they said the code indicated I needed a new pedal - the sensor in it was bad. I bought new pedal and installed it myself. Since then, had no problems for about 1,500 miles. Now, going back to same problem with not starting and feeling like it is stuck in 3rd or 4th gear until I manually remove battery cable.

Oh, and since then I just got new tires and one of the tire sensors is not showing up. Now I have the check engine light and tire sensor light. I am thinking it is a grounding problem, but don't know where to start. Really unhappy with this vehicle right now and wife is not going to inherit this car when time for new work car.
