For over two months now I have been dealing with GM as well as different dealerships and auto mechanics to try and repair a safety feature on my 2017 Chev Traverse. I have been told by all of them the same issue or needing items replaced yet there are NO parts. They have been on back order for 1+ years with no ETA in sight. This is now causing the computer in the vehicle to malfunction to cause more damage that also cannot yet be repaired. New issue while driving my vehicle - the entire dash cluster goes black (all still tied to the same issue). Speedometer and all gauges drop to 0 (zero) as if the car was not running or turned on. After a few minutes it came back on with every single service/ error light on the dash. This happened 4 times in the span of half an hour drive. GM's aware and not backing their product or helping get parts to repair, yet I am out the money of the car and a car payment for a vehicle that is unsafe. What options do I have as a consumer" How are these safety features helping when they cannot be fixed, ordered, or repaired. Who's liable for this? Why can't this be recalled and corrected" There are many articles as well as service bulletins from GM about this known issue involving not only my year, make and model but also the Chevy Cruze, Impala, Acadia (N172097060 - Special Coverage - Side Blind Zone Alert Module Water Intrusion) and I would like to know how to file a claim, have this be investigated, and get the problem solved not out of my pocket so that I have a vehicle with features to keep me as well as other individuals safe on the road that I pay for. Why is it that GM is allowed to continue using these parts they know are faulty, and need a shield protector to protect against this exact problem but wont cover there own vehicle and product?

I purchased this vehicle in June, 2021 and had noticed that it sometimes lurched forward a few feet when I applied the brakes. I made an appointment to have the vehicle-€™s brakes checked. While merging onto 12th Street in Rochester, MN at less than 15 mph, I had to apply brakes suddenly to avoid stopped car in front of me. The brakes worked but the car also accelerated and smashed into the stopped car in front of us, leaving a dent in that car-€™s rear fender, smashing our headlight shield, and making it difficult for our driver side door to open because the fender and door had to space between them. There were 6 similar complaints about 2017 Chevrolet Traverse vehicles at carcomplaints.com, where I also posted. I called the national phone line for General Motors because I was concerned about safety. GM sent an investigator to my home to take photos and electronic codes. They set up a claim for me, although I was only looking for a potential safety recall. Weeks later, they contacted me to say my claim was denied. When I asked for more details, they told me the engineers had concluded that I stepped on the gas rather than the brake. This didn-€™t make sense to me since both the brake and the accelerator had engaged. The gas pedal is recessed far closer to the floor than the brake pedal. While it is possible that my boot could have pressed on each of them at the same time since I reacted quickly, it's unlikely. I also wonder if the cruise control had engaged since, on this vehicle, it doesn't turn off and require you to turn it on again when you stop the engine and restart it. I requested the engineering data, which they sent me and I kept.

My 2017 Chevrolet Traverse is defective. While in motion the dash will randomly light up with "traction control off" immediately followed by "traction control on". a few moments later, while still in motion, "service stabilitrax" appears while every dial on the dash goes to zero, the engine is still running. Immediately after that, the dials go up and the gas pedal stops working and the vehicle will not accelerate. The vehicle is now at the dealer for a 3rd time and the service shop "cannot duplicate customer concerns". this is a huge safety issue as the car is in motion, in traffic and suddenly does not accelerate.

When putting gas in my 2017 Traverse, when I go to crank it, it's takes a while to start and then when it does start, it idles really high. Sometimes if I'm at a complete stop, the engine just cuts off. Tonight when I was driving to the store with my family, the engine cuts off while driving in the middle of the road. This is really scary because I live in atlanta, ga and often take the highway and I'm afraid the engine will shut off in the middle of driving. This is very dangerous. I've called Chevy and I am waiting on a call back because I had to leave a voicemail. I looked for a recall and could not find any. This is very odd considering all of the people who are having the same issue.

I live in cold climate with snow and ice conditions.when in motion, usually when the engine has reached running temperature is when the issues tend to occur. I notice it happens more often if there is ice build up on the rims causing an imbalance in the wheels but happens when the car is free of any ice or snow build up. The results of this is out of no where engine power is reduced, stability trak, park assist exct. Warning lights come on. This has now happened to me several times now in different conditions making this Chevy Traverse unsafe for my family of five, this is my only vehicle and the closest Chevy dealership is 135 miles away. With all that being the case I did research on my vehicles issues to find many websites and forums of countless people having the same issue with GM vehicles up to 8 years older than mine any many vehicles of the same year and model. Yet no recalls are found on these models and have put many people in dangerous situations. I have not took my Traverse to the dealer yet because I feel like I would get took advantage of like the hundred or so posts that I read about people that have been and wrote about there dealer horror stories. This is a well known issue that GM needs to fix for there consumer's and has failed to do so for the past eight years

I have a 2017 Traverse, bought it with just a few thousand miles on it back in 2017. I started having problems the day after I bought it. The car would die almost every day. Finally got that issue fixed. A few months later the washer fluid stopped working. I took it in to have it looked at and they said it had a hole in it. I had it replaced. A few months later my engine starts making a really loud noise when accelerating and my steering wheel would get so tight when I turned it, that I couldn't turn. I took it to be looked at and was told it had a hole in the steering pump and a pin needed to be replaced as well as the pump. I had that replaced. A few weeks later I'm getting gas and try to start my car and it stalls. I try to start it again and it starts, but it acts like it wants to die. The fuel gauge needle stays on E, even though I just filled my tank up. This same issue has happened 3 times now after getting gas. My steering has starting making a squeaking noise when I turn it. My engine is so loud when I'm driving, it's definitely not a normal sound. When my car sits in park with the engine in you can hear the engine whistling and revving up on its own, and then it acts as though it wants to die.

Noticed a loud noise coming from the engine area when I accelerated and turned the steering wheel. This happened in the city and on the highway. I took it to two mechanics who both diagnosed it with a leak in the power steering pump. They said there is a hole. This car is less than two years old and this is not normal. Also, my car continues to die when not in motion. Although my car says the battery is charged, when I go to start my car it won't start. I always make sure nothing is left on in her car. It started doing this two weeks after I bought it and it has continued since nice then. This is definitely not normal either.

Check air bag light came on briefly. Dealer said they couldn't find a code in the system showing that it had come one. Then as I'm driving with my kids in the car, the traction light comes on randomly, it starts wanting to turn off on itself. Mind you I'm on a very busy street with morons going over 60 mph behind me. It could have been a major accident! I went to advance auto cause I thought maybe it was my battery, even though its a brand new car. No. it wasn't they tested it and everything. So I called the dealer and they took it in for a day to then tell me that it is showing battery codes. I had just checked the battery the day before! so I knew it wasn't that, but they wouldn't do anything about it. So to play it safe, I bought a new battery. I had the place I bought the new one from test my old battery and big shocker the test came back as a good battery. So I spent the money for a unnecessary battery. A month goes by and nothing happens. Then about 2-3 weeks ago my screen starts complaining about "disk error" the dvd system isn't even on, and I'm not playing music on it either so it shouldn't be showing me "disk error" even if there was a disk in it. The [xxx] thing was off! and yesterday my husband goes to drive the car and it starts acting crazy again wanting to turn off on itself. So I'm done. It's a hazard to my family to own this car. Also, I heard from an acquaintance that owns the same car but an older model that this was happening to her vehicle too, and that it was covered under a recall but because ours is newer it isn't covered. So we got screwed with this vehicle. Thanks GM. I was driving down the road when suddenly I could not turn my wheel and then the car completely shutoff while in motion. I was on a city street.going straight. I was able to put on my hazards and then restarted the car. The dealership ran diagnostic tests and test drove it and could not replicate the problem and found nothing the matter with it. The car was purchased new and has less than 40,000 miles on it. This is a major safety hazard. Thankfully no one was driving right behind me or I would have been hit.

The first time I had an issue with this vehicle. I was stopped to pump gas, tried to start vehicle and it would just make a shaking and start but not turn over, check engine light came on, car had to be towed to dealer and they said an issue with defective part, fixed it and it happened again as so as they turned it on said it was the ECM. The second time I had an issue was much more severe. I was in an accident and hit on the rear driver side, minor damage, however the car was jolted forward and completely disabled itself, shutting off completely, and never activated the on call, or sos. Just thrusted forward and shut whole car down. The car was able to start after a few minutes, however the check engine light is on and the car engine is shaking again. Both times car is undrivable, and needed towed. I have only had this car for under 3 months.
