Turbo underboost causes check engine light and sputtering at acceleration

I was driving on the freeway at a speed of approx 70 mph when my check engine light came on with a noticeable decrease in engine power. I took my car to an auto parts store to have the code read and was told it was P0299, which indicates a turbo underboost condition. Upon doing further research and finding other Chevy Trax owner forums, I found that this is a common issue in colder weather, and service bulletin 16-NA-405 has been released several years in a row by General Motors which states that in North America, "some customers may comment that when driving in extremely cold weather conditions (0 or less), their vehicle experiences one or several of the following conditions:...hesitation on acceleration, malfunction indicator lamp illuminated, stalling condition, and loss of power". I have experienced several of these conditions. The service bulletin also states that there is a Special Coverage for vehicles with this issue, so I took my Trax to a local Chevy dealer. There, I was told that 5 other Chevy Traxes had been in for similar issues in that week (there had been a winter storm and temperatures below 0). However, I was told that despite this being a known issue among my year, make, and model, that I would have to pay over $2300 for repairs, even though there several special bulletins and coverages that state this is an ongoing, known issue with my vehicle.

After having the car for 3 years with only 45000 miles, purchased in 2019 with 7000 miles on it, my car keeps jerking like there is an emission issue. Car takes forever to get up to speed properly when merging onto the interstate. I see there's not s recall for the turbo and the emissions purge valve but I have the notices for special coverages"? When I go to the dealership they say there's nothing they can do without a recall?"

The shift button sticks when putting the car into park which 1. does not allow the key to be removed and 2. allows the shifter to be accidentally moved into gear which is a major safety issue.

On the highway doing 70mph, the transmission won't choose a gear and flips between 5th and 6th while at high RPM. The car looses all power to accelerate and holds gear at 5th while maintaining a 4000-5000 RPM. When I switch to manual to put the car in 6th, the RPM return to idle and the car will not accelerate

Started driving and in 10 minutes the car started hesitating and suddenly stalled. The engine light and the stability light also went on.. I was able to start the car again just long enough to park it on the side of the road. Waited for tow which was taking long in 96 degree weather. So I drove the car home (15 minutes away) had to drive very slow cause felt like turning off..took 45 minutes to get home..called dealer in the morning and they gave me a towing number. I called @9:30am, waited to call back at 12:30pm and no record of anyone sent out. Again they said some would be sent. They arrived AT2:50pm. Praying everything turns out good.

While driving at around 40 miles the 2016 Chevy Trax loss power to 5-10 mph, the steering wheel got stiff, the transmission and engine got idle. I took it to the Chevy dealer. For fortune I was not driving in the highway. I am very concern as I don't feel this car is safe to drive. The car has currently 38K miles, I bought it used with little under 36K miles. I noticed about 7-8 similar complains is different websites. I think somebody from NHTSA should look at this issue. Driving a car with these problems can result in major accidents and potentially death.

On August 30, 2017 I recieved an alert from onstar (via email) stating my 2016 Chevrolet Trax (with 14,000 miles on it) was having numerous safety issues. That same day, I drove my Trax on the highway on my way home from work and it stalled out twice while going 70 mph almost to a complete stop in rush hour traffic. It continued to sputter the entire drive home, and my check engine light was flashing. I got it home, then the next day drove it to a dealership for repair. While driving it there, the vehicle was struggling to operate, and barely pushing 1000 RPM. It felt as though it would stall again if I accelerated too quickly.

We had a problem shifting gears. The problem occurred while in moving at very slow speed (0-3mph) in a parking spot (in a lot), moving forward and back while demonstrating the use of the car, with a rented Chevy Trax 2016 model which had been previously rented by the time we acquired it. First, we were able to shift into reverse and move the car in reverse. Next we shifted into drive but the car continued to move in reverse. While the engine continued to run, we tried numerous times to shift and re-shift into drive but the car continued to move in reverse. Finally, we put the car in park, turned the engine off, restarted, aggressively shifted into drive and was able to move the car forward. We did not drive the car on open road until it was time to return the rental. We paid for a rental we did not want to use.
