While driving almost 80 mph on Hwy 15 between St. George, Utah and Cider City, descending down the hill and veering to the left, I wasn't able to turn my steering to the left which the road was turning to the left. I struggled to turn the wheel to the left and also tried to stop the car carefully so I didn't go skidding in stopping. I came to a stop on the side of the road slightly going down hill and hit a rock. I looked at my panel and it show orange color stating power steering power is off.

I struggle to turn the wheel and reverse and go forward driving less than 30 miles to drive to the rest stop that was near. I called Onstar and they were going to send a tow truck to take me to the dealer in Cider City.

I told them I'll rest for a moment and see if the light would go off and I'll drive to the dealer. It took me 3/4 attempts to start the car and turn it off, and played with the manual switch and on the 3rd or 4th try to start the car up it the light had disappeared. So I drove to the dealer like around 40 miles an hour fearing that the light would come on. I reached the dealer and realized it was Sunday, so I decided to drive all the way up to Casper dealer which took me a long time to reach there. They took in my car and worked on it and all they did was reprogram the unit instead of replacing a new unit that was required on the DOC.

I am so scare to drive these type of cars that are supplied with power units because no one will know when a fuse or a sensor or a wire in a program unit will go faulty and may cause a terrible wreck and die due this unsafe issues of power supplied units and especially on a steering unit.
