This 2005 Chevy Uplander has had electrical problems since I took it off the showroom floor, from all lights flashing interior dash and exterior as well. Fuel system lights as well as just about every other failure warnings inside this vehicle, to no fuel just after fill up, to service ABS system and door opens on and off since I owned it, every time I brought it in for service they told me that it needs to be happening at that time otherwise they cant fix it!! just now after seeing all the complaints about this poor made piece of S..it. I had to have my head examined to buy this car off the lease I had. As the only owner of the car I know its not my lack of maintenance cause the problems, its the multi billion dollar GM should be held accountable for this. Someone please help us with this issue, and bail us out just like GM has been, were just average people trying to get by.

The passenger side power sliding door does not close properly and opens on its own intermittently. Also, once the door is closed the "open door chime" does not stop. The chime continues to go off while driving, parked and when the car is turned off with the key out of the ignition. This is obviously a safety issue. I tried contacting the dealership where the vehicle was purchased and explained to them the safety hazard defect but was told that they will not fix the problem unless I paid for it. After doing further research, I have found that this is a very common problem for all GM mini vans especially the Uplander mini vans, with power sliding doors. However, since there hasn't been an official safety recall, dealerships will not fix the problem without payment. Again this is a safety problem and a recall should be issued.

Purchased 2005 Chevy Uplander April 2010. Not even a month or less having it had to replace voltage regulator/alternator/radio/starter. The lights would dim, flicker, wouldn't start. Now one year later the same problem as return and this time it cut off going down the road. It wont start sometimes and the voltage reader goes up and down. It is the same problem occurring. This is very unsafe to be doing this and you should have not to replace the same parts every year!

We have had 3 Chevy Uplander vans recently and the power doors like to come open on their own when you are driving at various speeds. This is very dangerous if you have children. The door chime also keeps dinging and making noise even when the door is closed.

The lights (interior and exterior) will flicker in my 2005 Chevrolet Uplander. It has become an unsafe situation as oncoming traffic think that I am flashing my highbeams at them. I have not replaced the voltage regulator yet, but I am sure this is the problem. GM should issue a recall for this item. My car is past the warranty period (60000 miles), and GM will only repair if I pay full price and labor for this safety item.

This complaint covers many components of the Chevy Uplander that has spanned over the three years that we have owned the van. All problems are "unable to be diagnosed" by dealerships and Chevy refuses to help us. I have been in contact with Chevy from about the second time that the van went to the shop for electrical problems. We have had electrical problems that vary from the lights flickering to the fans output changing to the radio not allowing you to program in a station on one preset button, we are also currently having an ABS issue and have had a non GM mechanic look at the van and said it is ok. The passenger side auto sliding door does not always automatically open and sometimes does not close either, when you manually shut it will open by itself several times before it stays shut. We are currently and have for some time had a problem with starting the van this is also something that "can't be diagnosed" it has been looked at many times. The problems happens about 15-20 times a week. We did purchase the extended warranty on the van and it is now about up and I am at a loss as to what to do because nobody wants to help even though it is clear I am not the only one. Please let me know if there is any other way to fight this. The drivers sliding door doesn't always unlock either unless done by hand.

I purchased a 2005 Uplander from a GM dealer in July 2005. I now have 32,167. I took my vehicle in for its normal oil change at 22,000 when the service department said I needed front and brakes and rotors. We replaced the brakes and rotors and my rotors need to replaced again. I also noticed a noise coming from the left front tire I was told that they did not hear the noise and everything was fine. I have taken the van in for dimming on the lights and the vehicle feeling like it is going to stall too many times to count and every time they tell me it is just the way GM vehicles run. I also have a problem with the starter I will crank it and nothing this happens at lease once a day and I have to retry at least two times before the van will start.the steering has been a big issue we have been having problems with the tightness and when I am driving I can feel the back end swaying. The vehicle is unsafe to be driving and with two small children it is extremely scary. After reading all the complaints how is this vehicle still on the road. The issues people are having are extremely dangerous. The dealership I go to has never tried to fix or replace any of the issues with my van. They also tell me its normal and they cannot find anything wrong. I am looking to replace the tires they are bald which is causing the van to hydroplane everytime it rains. The sticker on the inside panel is different from the tires. The tire Goodyear intergrity P225/60R17 states 44 psi with a max load of 1653 lbs. The inside sticker states 35 psi and max load of 1330 lbs. The tire size is extremely hard to find. I have also noticed when we close the sliding doors they do not shut, the latch doesnt catch the door until you slam extremely hard. Then my daughter will try to get out of the vehicle and the child lock will be on when we didn't slide it on. Can someone please do something to stop this

We have had several issues with the doors not closing and have taken the vehicle in several times. The service dept. Couldn't duplicate the problem. Apparently GM knows about the problem because the last time we were in there they told us there was an internal service bulletin about re-routing wires and possible module replacement, all of which was done to our vehicle. It is going back in again 7-27-07 for the same problem. Our Uplander also has a problem of the door locks rapidly locking and unlocking at various times while driving, and all of the lights will flicker and dim. One instance while driving at night all lights went out briefly and came back on, extremely dangerous! something has to be done. We live in Michigan, you'd think there wouldn't be a problem in the motor city.

I have a 2005 Uplander that has been back to the dealer four times now for an electrical problem and they tell me now that nothing can be done. The blower fan motor slows down when I am stopping and the head lights dim. The newest problem is that the passenger side auto sliding door open on its own. This has occurred on two different occasions.

: the contact stated while driving the head lights and the interior lights started flickering. The first time the vehicle was taken to the dealership, it only had two hundred and thirty eight miles on it. Upon inspection, the dealership determined the module computer control body needed to be replaced and the instrument panel was reprogrammed. Even though repairs were made, the vehicle was still experiencing the same type of problems. When the vehicle was taken to the dealership a second time, the sensor in the running day lights and the generator assembly were replaced. After driving the vehicle for a short period of time, the head lights and interior lights began flickering again. The vehicle was taken back to the dealership however there were no repairs made. The manufacturer was alerted.

The rear passenger door of my 2005 Chevy Uplander was open. I started the automatic door (to close). My 22 month old daughter started towards me. I put my hand inside the door to stop her. The door continued to close. I pushed against it with my forearm. The door continued to close, and closed on my hand. My left hand was trapped in the closed door. A part was ordered three months ago, but the door still has not been fixed.
