Uplander LX 6 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 86,000 miles

I have had many problems with this vehicle. The not starting thing is one of the least of my concerns but was recently fixed during a trip to the garage for transmission issues which I will get into later.

During the early winter the car started to not start every once in a while. Now it rarely starts on the first try. I was able to pump the gas a few times and it would usually catch. Then just before it went to the garage it had gotten to the point that it wasn't starting on the first try, it wasn't starting after being pumped on the first try either.

Hopefully what ever they did will last. Although it seems as though they think that they've fixed things but the problems seem to start back up again. This has me questioning if there isn't something wrong with the computer itself.

Uplander LS V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 25,000 miles

Within six months of owning my Uplander it became hard to start. Initially I could turn the key and motor started fine. Now, I have to give a little gas to get it started and sometimes have to do this two or three times. Very frustrating!!

Uplander LS V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 55,000 miles

It had become such a hassle when I try to start the vehicle and it sounds like it is going to turn on, but it takes several times for it to actually start. I have even tried to start it and it sounded like it was on, put it in drive, but the car wouldn't move because the car never really started. I have also had a problem with the driver side rear sliding door. The door would not fully latch all of the way. On many occasions the door would not even latch even with me pushing the door with all of my body weight. Just the other day I had got out of my car and l went into my house. I went back outside to the car to get the rest of my things out of the car. When I went back inside, I heard a knock on the door. It was a neighbor telling me that my park and break lights were on. It was weird because my lights are set on auto, so that means that I don't have to turn my lights on or off because if it is dark out, my lights will automatically turn on, if it is light out, my lights will not turn on. On this particular night, my lights had automatically turned off, but when I had gone back out to the car, evidentially something triggered the park and brake lights to turn on and I couldn't get them to turn off. Finally, I had to turn the car on, put the car in reverse, put the car in drive and park the car. When I got out and my lights turned off, so did my park and brake lights. The first time I bought my car and it rained, it started leaking from the roof of the liftgate and I had finally taken it in before the warranty was expired. The problem was resolved, but I think it is starting to occur. I love my Uplander, but there are just so many things that are happening that it is just getting so annoying.
