Uplander LT

  • Automatic transmission
  • 110,000 miles

Well it's good to know that I am not the only one who has a money pit. My transmission has no power going up low hills, it bucks whenever I take off feeling as though someone hit the back of the vehicle. It doesn't happen all the time so the mechanic doesn't get a chance to feel it whenever I took it in to be serviced. This sucks! I worry yet again about being stranded or worse. it catching fire. I don't have 2500 dollars to replace it.

Uplander LS 3.0

  • Automatic transmission
  • 79,000 miles

Horrible feeling like transmission is "grabbing" or "clunking" at taking off from a stop. Feels like it doesn't fully engage in 1st gear, then clunks into the second gear so hard it almost feels like someone tapped your rear bumper! Some days not at all, then other days at every stop (usually when tranny is very warm from highway use). Won't act up for mechanic and don't want to spend another dime on this van. Still has steering knuckle knobby feeling that has not been resolved. Would love any advice or help from someone who has had this issue.

I was on the way home for lunch today when my Uplander tried to shift into 4th gear and wouldn't. Now it won't shift out of first gear. 2006 with about 36,000 miles on it. It is sitting at the tranny shop right now.
