Chevrolet service case [xxx] 5/20/19 for same issue described below service at victor Chevrolet victor Chevrolet replaced brake calipers problem was minimized for a short time. 8/27/19 -- brought the vehicle to victor Chevrolet for the second time for the same problem * clunk in rear of car as it stops. Previously, the problem started small and got progressively worse with time. The clunk moves the car slightly forward; it moves more as the problem worsens. * car has 6700 miles now. It had about 4500 miles last time (victor Chevy can confirm or correct) 8/30/19 -- called victor Chevrolet service. Nikki told me that they tested another Volt and it has the same issue, so this isn't a problem. I said it becomes progressively worse, and needs be fixed, as it is a safety issue. At the very least, I ought never to have to pay for fixing the issue or related problems regardless of the status of my warranty. Nikki said I need to call and talk to service manager (gary). I said he needs to research and give me more information; I will call Chevy meanwhile and consult with them. 8/30/19 -- called Chevy (C/S) 800 888 1020 -- Julian will escalate to senior advisor team. They say two business days. That means Wednesday. Today is Friday. Case number [xxx] goals: 1) keep communication in writing as much as possible so no misunderstandings 2) fix the issue. Sounds like maybe there is a recall needed if many Volts have the same problem. Perhaps Chevy corporate can research the problem and minimize trips to service (ugh. Such a hassle to drop off a car) 3) if issue can't be fixed, obtain in writing from Chevy a waiver so that any future repairs directly or indirectly related to this problem are warranty covered information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
