As of recently my 2012 Chrysler 200 that is equipped with a 4cyl engine with an automatic transmission is having issues with the transmission. What I am experiencing is when I start off driving the gears will shift harshly in the lower gears, it's almost like the transmission isn't quite sure what gear to go into. When the vehicle decides the gear it jolts going into that gear. This is quite annoying especially with the fact that I will have this car paid off in June.

I am nervous about what the mechanic is going to tell me and how much this is going to cost! This also isn't the only issue! my car has the same problem that many others have with the ac/heater as the passenger side is always blowing cold air out when the heater is on. This started to happen around 65k miles, this makes it difficult to defrost the windshield making that another safety concern. I

see more complaints about that than anything, the fix for that is over $2000 dollars due to them putting bad antifreeze in the system that gums up the heater core. Why have these issues not been recalled? I am out of words and will never buy another product from Chrysler.

When slowing down the tranny has a jerky feeling to it maybe like a slipping feeling. We had it checked and were told it is normal for the car. They said a computer said it is ok. It is odd and still feel something is wrong, we still feel uncomfortable when we are driving it.

needing replacement. I have a small shop replacing them. Never buy another chrysler

Was driving 75 mph and suddenly, as I slowed down, the engine light went on, and once I came to a complete stop and then tried to accelerate it wouldn't shift out of 3rd gear and the RPM would ride at 7 unless I shifted it into N and then the temp went up to the max too. So I got it to a dealership for the fourth time and was told they need to rebuild the transmission, which would cost over $3200.00 if I didn't have warranty. Its been in the shop for over 2 weeks now and it still isn't fixed yet. But as soon as I get this fixed I am trading it off as I don't feel safe with it. What a waste of money this car was, I can't even trust or rely on it, paid over 13k and it's junk.

I bought this car used at 29,000 miles paid for the extended warranty. A few days after buying this beautiful car I realized something was really wrong with the way it was driving.. So I called Kia of Jackson, Michigan and explained in detail what my concerns were/are. I was told you need to call the Chrysler Corporation, it's still under the manufacturer. I called explained everything and then was asked for the VIN number to check and see if there are recalls on the car. He then informed me that they will NOT HONOR the manufacture warranty because the car was from Canada!! I was NEVER informed of this until then.

So I called Kia and they would look at it.. After arguing with the manager over it. So I called them to ask on what needs to be done... I was told it's perfectly safe to drive, nothing is wrong with this car.. No engine light is on, it's safe to drive... I paid $15,000 for this car, pay off is $15,500 and dealership will take this car as a trade in.. I was told we can give you $6,000 but we don't want this car.. The dash lights are too bright, you shouldn't be driving this car..

And I'm stuck!!!

Going down Interstate it surges. It gets really bad with Cruise Control on at 70 mph going up small hill. It's going to dealership on 9-28-15. Thinking its cam shaft senor or transmission. Check engine light comes on frequently. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

So, after a cylinder head replacement, computer module replacment and sensor replacement in a weeks time, 3 weeks later I have yet another defective sensor, camshaft sensor to be exact. The car jerks when acclerating over 55 and does not have enough power to go up any type of incline. I called the dealership and was told they were "Back logged" and couldnt fix it for a few days and that it was "safe" to drive. I have taken the car in to have the sensor changed and the dealership "lead mechanic" is keeping the vehicle to drive further even though the road test proved it was driving satsifactorily. What does that tell me? They are concerned that they havent fully mitigated the problem with this vehicle as it seems to have multiple at a time. As soon as it hit 18000 it has been down hill. $24k for this car and it is crap. If I have another sensor issue after this I am pushing to get it declared a lemon. In my state they get 4 chances to repair the same problem and then have to take it back and pay me compensation. I love my vehicle but if it isn't in reliable, working order I will pursue the "lemon law" and get rid of it. I have a 2004 Mazda Tribute with 189K miles and it has been in the shop less time than my 2012 Chyrsler 200 - that is sad and say something about the craftsmanship of this car.

I noticed the problems ONLY when manually shifting the car, which I am use to a 5 and 6 speed manual. I bought this car just to shift it manually, to save gas when braking.

However, I cant tell when this car is holding the clutch and chrysler made it when you manually shift that car, you have to MANUALLY shift it, as in timing the shifting of the transmission to when telling the computer to release the clutch - its all in how fast you're going, what gear you're in, and the gear you're shifting to that determines how long you hold the autostick to the left or right before releasing it. If you hold it too short, for example, when shifting from 3rd to 2nd, it will almost always shudder BUT if you hold it for 2 seconds then release it, most of the time it shifts fine.

The point though is chrylser FAILED when making the autostick; they should have done one of two things - make a blinking indicator to help the driver know when its safe to release the autostick OR make the transmission smarter to not be so hard on itself, no matter how short or long the driver holds the autostick.

Ive went to several different dealers; Ive had the flash updated and it helped a lot but not totally fixed the problem, only chrysler can by recalling the transmissions, which they wont do. why? "cause it drives totally fine in regular drive". If you put a feature on a car, its suppose to work 100%.

It makes me think of Dr jeckyl and Mr Hide. Hide will make the car shift perfectly in regular drive but jeckyl will advertise autostick and intentionally make it where the autostick kills the transmission, so that the customer will pay chrylser more money to fix it after the warranty runs out.

I have intentionally put my vin number so that hopefully carcomplaints.com makes Chrysler read this; as, Chrysler, I will not rest until I get either a 2014's transmission with the problems fixed (hopefully the new 9 speed transmission they put in the 014's has this issue fixed) or you give me a refund.

I will go to the consumer affairs office BEFORE the warranty gets within 1000 miles of running out if this is not fixed. I really like this car; I want it fixed instead of a brand new one of a different make but if I have to, I will get a refund, WAIT until chrysler fixes the problem, and buy the model that the problem is fixed in.

Daimler Chrysler would roll over in his grave if he knew how you are treating the customers, putting crappy transmissions in. Didnt you learn from the sebring? apparently not.

There are several problems with y new Chrysler 200. I will list them out. I have had the car into the dealership multiple times and they return with the standard line of, "Unable to duplicate the issue". Contacted the Chrysler corporation an they would not help. Even gave us a manual outlining how to put the car into manual shift mode because issue is happening. The manual says during strong head winds to operate the car this way not All the time.
