THIS PROBLEM STILL EXISTS NOW WE HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE. I DONT SEE THEM FIXING THIS. I AM AT MY WITS END ON THIS ISSUE. I REALLY DO NOT LIKE THE RIDE IN THIS CAR AND FEEL LIKE I DONT EVEN WANT TO DRIVE IT ANY MORE. I FEEL THAT I AM PAYING TOP DOLLAR FOR A CAR IT SHOULD WORK AND RIDE FOR THE FIRST THREE YEARS LIKE A NEW CAR SHOULD. THE DEALER AND THE CORPORATE CHRYSLER OFFICE HAVE SAID THE SAME THING ABOUT THE RIDE OF THE CAR. THEY ARE SAYING THIS IS HOW THE CAR DRIVES. MY QUESTION HAS BEEN IF THIS DROVE LIKE THIS WHEN I DROVE IT I WOULD HAVE NEVER BOUGHT THE CAR.

Boooooo Chrysler you are so dumb! I don't know what they did to my car but it's somehow WORSE than before. I took it in for the first oil change, they also said there were some software updates (one of which should make the car drive better haha) and recalls to do. I waited two hours or so for them to basically ruin my car. When I left the dealer I noticed some very noticeable jerking/jolting/jumping every time I slowed to a stop. I took the car back a few days later and they did some sort of computer learning thing on it that I guess is supposed to teach the car how to shift? It was confusing to me. Left the dealer after having it there all day and the problem is exactly the same if not worse. I notice now harder shifting not just when downshifting but also upshifting...soooo annoying! I'm taking it back a 3rd time but not feeling very hopeful about it after seeing some people had their transmissions replaced. GEE WIZ GUYS. I will say the people working there are really nice about it and everything and got me a newer 200 loaner car (which drove better than mine). Said there is supposedly another update in the works but that the one they already did usually make the cars drive better. I was not so lucky.

I Bought my car in Aug 2015 I have had my car in to the same shop 8 time for the same thing. I called the Chrysler center to report the trouble I am having maybe I need to file complaint on the car. I been telling the shop what it is doing jerking when I slow down it is like it is miss gear 2 when you slow down. I even had the shop forma ride with me and drive my car and it did it to him too the jerking. the shop keeps my car for 24 hr to 2days maybe all I keep getting is oh just needed a update. nope bull it keeps doing it, but this the kicker in the butt when the Chrysler center called the shop there is none thing wrong then why is the car still jerking. but now I got the car back it jerks on gear 2 and 6 not yea gear 6 is bad because I am driving on the freeway hello I could hit a car because my car is jerking, but this not the only thing my radio will call people out of the clear blue, my brake pedal will pop when I am stopping and I have a antifreeze leak still. so I am now taking it to a new shop and I want a fine tooth comb go over it. I will let you know what happens.

Update from Mar 22, 2016: I took my car to a different car dealership and they try to fix what was wrong with my car. Chrysler told the car dealership that they will not dix what is wrong with my car. that Chrysler is coming out with an update to for the problem.Great when will that be because I am sure that I am not the only one that has heard that. I was told 30-40 day it should be out. ok I heard that almost 6 mos ago.so here what I have to ask if my car jumps or jerks some people will say if my car hits the car in front of me because of this I think Chrysler should have to pay for it. I also think just maybe put some fire under their butt just maybe the National new needs to get hold of this little problem that they don't want to seem to fix. I think car companies need to be held at higher standers . Chrysler want their money from us to buy these car then Chrysler need to fix what they know is wrong with these car.

I financed this vehicle in August 2015. Sometimes after that, I started to feel jerking when I accelerated or when I was coming to a stop. In time it became worse so I took it in for help and they said it was fixed and sent me home. I had to pay for gas to get there and to get back, not to mention the car gave me even more problems after that. I had to take it back again, not to mention I had to pay for a loaner car. Again, I had to put gas in both my Chrysler 200 2015, and the loaner car. To make a long painful story short. I could not drive the car because of being fearful of a accident. I never was able to drive to visit my family for any of the Holidays and by the 3rd of 4th time in the shop, they claimed to have put a new transmission in the car, but that was a lie....The car started doing the same thing so I checked out a couple different mechanics and they said it was definitely a transmission problem. And again its in the shop and I'm paying for a loaner car. It's been a terrible nightmare, and I don't wish this problem on anyone. The worst part is I'm still paying for a car that I never drive cause it's always in the shop. I pray the good Lord helps all the people who have been sold these Lemons. They need to take them off the road before someone gets badly injured or killed. God Bless All Of you who have been lied to and taken advantage of, and God bless those who have been injured or killed by these Lemon cars. God Help Us!!!!!!

200 C V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 8,000 miles

As of today, this vehicle has been to the dealership for warranty-related diagnostics and repairs five times since June. I have been without the car I'm making payments on for 23 business days. The most significant issue throughout this period has been the transmission. Below is a list of transmission-related problems experienced while driving the vehicle: 1. Delayed/harsh shift from 2nd to 3rd gear, to the extent everyone in the car would be thrown backwards in their seat, much like a racecar. This was especially harsh when the vehicle was cold. 2. Vehicle lunges forward when downshifting rapidly. For example, if I was driving 55MPH and had to stop unexpectedly/quickly, as the transmission downshifted, the entire vehicle would thrust/jump around 3rd-4th gears. It almost feels like the car is going to accelerate instead of stopping, and is extremely alarming and frightening. 3. In a situation where the vehicle is slowed, but not stopped, and then accelerated (such as exiting a parking lot onto a major road), once the accelerator is applied, the engine RPMs shoot up, but the transmission delays dramatically before upshifting, causing the vehicle to jerk. It also gives the impression the vehicle may not shift, and could fail to accelerate when entering moving traffic. 4. When maintaining speeds between 24-26MPH, the transmission jumps around wildly between 3rd, 4th, & 5th gears. The ‘jumps’ aren’t always smooth, and it causes the vehicle to jerk. After multiple service visits and software updates, the transmission and torque converter were replaced the week of 12/1/15. The vehicle was driven for approximately one month after this repair, and the only issue that has been resolved is the hard shift from 2nd to 3rd gear. Issues 2, 3 & 4 still exist with no improvement or change. Issues 2 and 3 are the most concerning because they both present a sense of insecurity and fear that the vehicle isn’t going to respond to braking or accelerating, creating a dangerous, unsafe situation. Since the exact same issues continue, even with a brand new transmission, it doesn’t seem as though there is any type of repair that is going to resolve this issue. My car has been at the dealership since 1/13. When I dropped it off, the service manager gave me a long speech about "adaptive transmissions", "clutch brakes", and told me the transmission isn't an automatic transmission--it's a manual transmission that shifts like an automatic. (Seriously?) I have the same issues between the original and new transmission, so I'm not buying any of it. I have numerous other issues with this car that the dealership has been unable to fix as well. My previous three vehicles were Chrysler/Dodge products, but this experience has sealed the deal that I won't be buying another one for a LONG time.

Update from Jun 21, 2016: As of today (6/21/16), my car has spent 74 days at the dealership over the course of the past year. The transmission issues are no better, and I've experienced various other issues. Chrysler made my Lemon Law Attorney a pitiful offer 2 months ago, which I seriously laughed (audibly) at. This car has been rated as the worst sedan by Consumer Reports. It has depreciated by $10,000 since I originally purchased it, leaving me very upside-down in my car loan. Chrysler is currently struggling to sell the 2015s they still have on the lot because word has gotten out that they are crap.

I wish I never bought this car. It rolled off the lot with 32 miles on it. Just recently the transmission started bucking. It doesn't do it all the time, mostly in parking lots going slow. Sometimes it jerks so hard it will snap your neck. You can hear a huge clunk noise. Just within the last week it's gotten real scary. When pulling into a parking spot or at the bank when I put into park you can hear a load clunk and this thing jumps forward like it's in gear and will rock forward and back. I'm scared shitless this thing is going to jump into gear and I am going to hurt or kill someone.

Time to add another Chrysler 200c transmission to the land fill. I too experienced all the complaints listed with the jerky transmission shortly after taking receipt of the car. Finally after six visits to the dealer I got the call an hour ago that my new transmission is on order. Too bad we had to go this route but this transmission like most of the other consumers here have stated is a piece of junk.

Had it flashed four times in addition to the transmission module being replaced and a new wiring harness - all for nothing. The sad this is for a week or two after getting it back each time it ran great before all the jerkiness returned. The shifts were so harsh that it would whip your head back through the first three gears. Then there was the putting it into reverse where after a very pronounced "clunk" would happen. Sometimes I thought the transmission had fallen out of the engine compartment it was so harsh. My favorite issue was coming to a stop. It would stay in third gear just before coming to a complete stop and then shift to first gear with the usual "clunk" and the lurch forward.

Last month when I had it it for its routine "flash", the technician recommended a transmission replacement, but after three days of waiting, Chrysler declined the request and just opted for another flash along with some other adjustments.

So here I am 11 months and 8,100 miles later awaiting the arrival and installation of my new transmission. The killer is I get a stripped 2015 Chrysler 200 for a rental car and the thing runs like a champ unlike my 200c! Incredible....

My 2016 New Years resolution - never buy another Chrysler; I'll stick to GM.

Took my perfectly driving 200 in for an oil service and tire rotation. The dealer also stated there was a software update (no detailed explanation so I assumed it was the radio security) Nov 21th, 2015. I waited for the service to be completed and upon driving home noticed the car acting weird, the transmission was not down shifting correctly and lunging forward terribly.

I immediately contacted the dealership and they advised the software flash would take 1,000 miles-WHAT? Sounds like bull s**t to me but I drove it over 1500 miles for Christmas in IN with everyone riding along asking what the heck is wrong with my car! I contacted the dealer upon my return and after some excuses and a Service manger with an attitude it now goes back in Jan 9th, 2016 but they are already trying to blow it off.....Drove Perfect till my dealer and FCA screwed it up!

If they even attempt to tell me it needs to reflash or its my driving style I will immediately request a test drive in a new one and video it.

Update from Dec 31, 2015: FCA tells me my car had the TCM and PCM updated when the problem started.

Update from Feb 8, 2016: Well after two more visits......This car still does not down shift correctly without a lurch forward between 2nd and 1st. Some nice pieces of crap you have built in Detroit Chrysler!

Dec 082014

200 Limited 2.4L

August 2014 I purchase a brand new 2015 Chrysler 200. I went to the dealership service department where I purchased the car in September 2014 to advise that I’m having issues with the car in terms of brakes and lots of jerking. I took the car in about 3 more times after September 2014 (October 2014, February 2015, May 2015) and advised the same thing but the only thing that was documented was issues with the brakes; the only thing that service department did was a complete flashed TCM and the recall update R01 Reprogram TCM and PCM.

Soon after that I went to another dealership where I had my transmission replaced after only 14K miles on the car. I’ve been provided rental by servicing department numerous times. I’ve taken my car to the other servicing department over 6 times.

My car has numerous issues: Stutters as it starts up and as it slows down, engine stalls, car stalls when I apply gas after a complete stop, car stalls on freeway speeds, slips into neutral while driving, car jerks when shifting and backing up. Even with the most recent recall I had my PDC electrical connector replaced and guess what? My car continues to driving the same. In the recall it states that “Results in an engine stall or a shift to neutral event. Either of these conditions may cause a crash without warning.”

So if the solution Chrysler/FCA thought would fix this problem isn’t fixed, what should the consumer do? Here’s the steps I’ve done at this point and would advise anybody else to do in similar situations: Contact a lemon law attorney. If you have a case than your lemon law attorney will contact the manufacturer and negotiate. Depending on your situation the manufacturer will try to settle and get you to go away. If you decline the offer the next best thing will be arbitration through national settlement dispute. Keep in mind the arbitrator will most likely be on the side of the manufacturing company. Once you request for a buyback/replacement, will most likely be denied, and then from there take your case to trial.

I cannot speak for all 2015 Chrysler 200’s but my car is the worse car I have ever had. I previously had a 2011 Chrysler 200 where I traded it in for a 2015. This car is very unsafe to drive and I feel as if many people will get hurt especially for the people who purchased a 2015 between Spring of 2014 to January 2015. Again for those who are having similar issues like I am I would definitely look into the lemon law, especially for those who are experiencing similar.
