When I accelerate from a stop sign or from a stopped position the vechicle will rev high and not pick up speed. It will stall in the middle of an intersection or as I am driving. This has been occurring since I purchased the vehicle in March 2016. When the vehicle is being started, the car engine and electrical system flickers uncontrollably. All of the lights on the dash board goes off and on the dials goes up and down. The engine shacks as it would like to start but doesn't. it would take up to 2 to 3 times to restart the car to work properly. Recently April 2, 2021, as I was driving majority of the lights came on, transmission, parking brake, ABS lights came on. The power steering is not fully functional and the transmission is not reacting normally. As I accelerate during tgis time the traction control symbol flashes and yhe car has difficulty picking up speed. The car has a increasingly difficult time accelerating. If I were to accelerate too quickly the vehicle will rev high and the fears will not catch properly.

On a highway while about to cross an intersection the engine just shuts off when taking off. The engine hesitates and dies with no check engine lights or anything. Taking away power steering and making it harder to stop due to the engine not running.

While traveling on roadway the traction control light illuminates with the service engine light. Immediately followed by the service power steering warning message and the vehicles is shutdown by the PCM. Total loss of steering, power, and control. The vehicle turns off and displays a message to put the vehicle in park to start. It will not crank or turnover unless you disconnect the battery and reset it. The "safety feature" of the electronic power steering failure is to kill the engine completely without regard to it's current status of travel and movement. Our dealer, earnhardt Dodge in gilbert AZ, has no idea why this is occurring and wants to charge $600 to attempt to determine why the fuel pump refuses to engage while the service power steering warning message remaining. This is one of the first years of electronic power steering in this vehicle and we are beginning to see numerous occurrences across the web of this issue with the 200 happening around 45K to 60K miles. Ours has 60K miles. Since this is an issue that appears to occur a few years into ownership, dealer mechanics have no idea what the cause is or how to repair it since they have no experience with it thus far. It is an obvious safety issue to shut down the fuel pump while traveling at any speed and shut down the electronic controls resulting in a "dead stick" vehicle with no way to steer or brake safely. Plus, once you do manage to get the issue diagnosed, no "experts" are able to determine what the originating issue is without replacing total steering systems and electrical components. From a consumer standpoint this will surely become an increasingly dangerous situation for drivers in the Chrysler 200 and other drivers on the roadways. I pray someone looks into this issue thoroughly and can assist the public and owners of these vehicles in securing a resolution.

Car has shut off while driving last few weeks. It happened. As soon as I turned onto a road, going 20-30 mph, it has happened while trying to merge onto the freeway. The car just stalls, says "place in P to start" and then dies. The gearshift and wheel lock up and you have to turn the car off and attempt to restart. Each time I had to try at least 3 times to get the car restarted. All lights come on dash, battery light included, but had battery checked and it is fine. Trying to restart, it doesn't want to turn over. This has happened with several cars behind me and have almost been rear ended because of it. Took it to the dealship but, all they told me to do was track my oil changes but, the problem still remains.

I am asking you to issue a safety recall on my vehicle. You investigated the 2015 model for the same issue and it was recalled as a result. The 2016 is just as dangerous. Is there a reason why the lives of people who drive 2015 models are more valuable than mine or my children? it turns off while driving with no warning and leaves me in the middle of intersections! the steering cuts off too. I have to first struggle to control the steering, shift into park, push start, and wait, while I brace myself for the impact that is about to shatter my spine or kill my children! it began as soon as I hit 60K miles a few weeks ago and happens every time I drive it. It happens mostly when I am turning, sometimes when braking for a light, and sometimes it doesn't actually turn off, it just seems like it is suddenly in neutral and makes revving sounds when I hit gas but wont go, that's when message says 'service transmission'. I was making a U turn and almost hit a pole! it may start up with first try, or a few tries. It hasn't happened in high speeds on highway but that may be because I am too afraid to go that route anymore. Obviously this is a manufacturing defect. I paid cash for this vehicle and should not have to pay a penny to fix this, but if I or mine are injured I will spend every cent I have on a lawsuit. Thank you for your understanding in this extremely important matter.

I have a 2016 Chrysler 200 and of you are a quart low the vehicle has a sensor which tells the vehicle to shut off it don't matter we're you are at and you can only go 1800 to 2000 miles till it burns that quart off so when the vehicle dies the power steering is turned off and the steering wheel locks so there is no way to get off the road you have to stop the car and put in park to start again I called the manufacturer and they told me that means so safty is working properly so they can't do anything but to me that seems like a safty hazard to anyone in the car to get rear ended or in a intersection

Since I've bought the car, upon accelerating, stopping, pretty much doing any driving the car will bubble under and jerk as if you're manually switching shifts. It has only gotten worse over the 2 years I've owned this car and no one can seem to help because there's no "code" that finds the problem. My car also, will lock the wheel while I'm driving, lock the brake and gas and turn completely off as if the battery died and I can't put the car in neutral or anything since it is locked. This has almost caused my to be in multiple vehicle crashes. The car is now shaking and still having a bubbly feel under the car as if it's having a hard time starting up while I'm driving.

Vehicle is stalling, completely shutting off, losing power while driving. It has done it as 20mph, 45mph, going straight, turning left, turning right. There is no notification that this is happening. The only thing I can tell it's happening is it looses power, steering locks up and the car dash says "shift to P to start vehicle". when I do that, the car takes at least 30-456 seconds to completely start back up and running. It acts like it does not want to start back up. I have travelled county roads, city streets, highways and it has done it on each one of them. This is not ok and something that needs to be blown off with no recall. I have 2 small children that is 99.9% of the time in the car with me. I can not have this continue to happen with nothing being done or resolved of this. I have taken it to 2 different Chrysler dealers and they cannot figure out what is going on with it because the car is not throwing any codes when it happens. No check engine light, nothing.

The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler 200. While driving 40 mph, the steering wheel seized and the vehicle pulled to the right. As a result, the vehicle crashed into a tree and then landed in the middle of the street, causing the axle to detach. There were no warning indicators illuminated. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to kendall Dodge Chrysler Jeep (13355 S w 137th ave, miami, fl 33186, phone number: (786) 231-2000), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer informed the contact that an investigation was conducted and determined that the vehicle crashed into a tree. No further assistance was offered. At times when you are driving the car, the steering wheel is hard to turn like it has something blocking it and you think it's not going to turn. It doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes it's more frequent than others. Also at times when you start to accelerate there is delay in response causing the car to stall and when the car will resume.

I had just finished reversing to adjust my parallel parking in a residential street. I placed the hazard lights on and put the car into "P". after my daughter got in, I took off the hazard lights and place my car on "D". in order for me to change gears I have to press down the brake, and as I let go to start driving I felt my car do a quick two "tugs" as I was going forward and into a drive-way on my left. When I was turning the steering wheel, I felt it start to go stiff to where I had to turn it hard for it to move. The car started to slow down while I pressing the gas, coming to a halt before my front wheels could go on the drive-way. I pressed the brakes but they were hard where I could not press down on them and I let them go. I pressed down on them again hoping they would work, but they were hard. At that point the car sounded like it turned off on me even though the sign on my ignition read "run". I look down and my gear is on "D" but flashing on and off. At this point I am stuck in the middle of a residential street (sideways) because my car would not move. I look at the screen in my dashboard and its flashing something about "shift" and the battery light is on. I was panicking so I did not fully read what it was flashing and fortunately was able to change the gear to "P" even though I could not press down the brakes because they were very stiff. I turned off my car, and restarted it. At that point my car worked like nothing happened. I know my car in a weird way turned itself off because my A/C was not blowing cool air anymore (windshield was starting to fog because of the rain) until I restarted the car. I will say that a few months prior my "parking brake" turned on on its own, and I had mistakenly thought I had done it even though I had not touched it. I was adjusting my car into a parking spot and had just changed from "R" to "D".
