cooling fan blade motors failed cooling fan blade motors failed cooling fan blade motors failed

Original Fan Assembly failed five to seven years ago vehicle was towed to the Chrysler Dealership in Jacksonville, Fla (Blanding Blvd) for repair. At that time the dealership recommended a radiator flush in which I authorized. Currently unable to find the document to reflect the repair due to record archive and discarding records greater than three years. Since the vehicle was approaching seventy thousand miles since the Fan Assembly were replace by the dealership if I had known that there were a potential problem with potential failure during each oil change I could have performed a white light inspection while during under hood inspection. This is a potential problem that could have been worse if I had been traveling at a high rate of speed the blades could have ruptured the AC Condenser also which could have been costly for me due to the car not having a warranty. The reason I replaced the Assembly was the lock tab feature showed signs of separation.

AT 33,000 MILES THE FAN MOTORS FAILED AND THE PLASTIC BLADES BROKE OFF. THIS IS RIDICULOUS, ANOTHER $800.00 OUT OF POCKET. I PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW IN DECEMBER 2006 AND ONLY DRIVE IT ABOUT 3,500 MILES A YEAR. I EXPECTED BETTER QUALITY THAN THIS.

300C Limited 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 55,600 miles

I have a 2006 Chrysler 300C Limited that presently has less than 60,000 miles. Since November we have been experiencing problems.

Around Thanksgiving the fan in front of the vehicle stop working, car started overheating. That was expensive.

My Son and I went to visit my husband at work in NY and at the time we lived in NJ. The car started overheating and I had never experience this issue. Thank God my brother told me how to handle it till I got home. The next day I took it to the dealership and they told me the fan (the part in front of the vehicle) would have to be replaced, I can't honestly remember the cost, but I do remember it was expensive.

Then we had two other issues which I will enter separately.

I called the local dealer (Browning Dodge Chrysler in Norco CA) about the recall notice. They said they didn't have stock of the "recall parts kit" and asked if we would like to be placed on a list. I said yes and gave my information. about two weeks later the fans started making noise. I called the same dealer in the morning after the noise started. They said they had the parts in stock and to bring it in. (hmmmm so much for being on a list).

After taking the car in I was told that the fan motors were bad. (they were working the night before). They also told me that the fan motors were not covered in the recall. (But the recall says that they will cover any additional damage should the fan blades be of cause).

Deductive reasoning leads me to believe that something spinning at high speed which is faulty would have a direct correlation to the thingy which spins it.

The dealer (above) then told me it would be over $500.00 to replace the motors.

I asked the dealer (above) if the motors needed to be replaced right away or could we wait. He told me the technician said they were dead and when power was applied did not even move. (But they moved the night before)

Also it was both motors failing at the same time.

I called Chrysler Compliant Department and filed a case. It was escalated to a case manager within 48 hours and I was contacted. I explained everything to the case manager.

I called the dealer (above) back and told them not to do anything until Chrysler investigates this. My car now has been sitting at the dealer for nearly two weeks. Every day I call my case manager I get the same thing. (I cant get a call back from the service manager at the dealer (above). Or- The were are waiting for the service manager to approve this and we can get a hold of him. every day the same thing.

We love our 300C but this service and lack of responsibility really has tainted my opinion of the car, and the company, and the word service.
