For over ayear now, I have had this problem where the front defrost kicks off automatically (full blast) and then none of the buttons on the ATC panel work. sometimes a weird combination of buttons works to reset the panel but most of the times, it really gets crazy. The heat is unbearable especially in summer. Most mechanics won't even give an estimate. But I did head from them that this was a very common issue with 93 Concords apart from the inner tie rod issue which I had to change

at least 3 times.

For this problem, I ended up buying up a Concorde manual. One mechanic told me that the issue was related to an electronic component that was inside the glove box. However, after I opened it up, it wasn't there. The same guy said that for certain models it was inside the front panel and that the whole thing had to be removed to get access to it. At this stage, I am not sure but as someone mentioned, resetting the on board computer might be a short-term solution although I am not sure what the real procedure is. If someone has more information of a solution or a recall that might help, i would appreciate it. It is like driving in an oven during summer.

our heater fan will just turn on, we have whacked the control panel and sometimes it will turn off, other times we have to pull the fuse. I hear replacement is very expensive. Any ideas why this is happening and how we can fix it?

I had the same car and same problem. It did this for several weeks then when I finally replaced the battery it stopped. So perhaps a loose cable or battery. To make it stop during the spring, I would click the locks up and down several times until it would appear to 'reset' the computer. I figure it just 'glitched' the computer long enough to reset it. Hope this helps.

The display goes blank and the heat kicks on full blast through the defrost vents. Sometimes it's 30 seconds, a couple days ago it was 20 hours! It wasn't as bad before, but it's a pain in the ass when 80 and 90 degrees out. I'm not looking forward to the 100 degrees and above weather. When the display comes back on, it's back on my original settings, with the exception of defrost being a selection. PLEEEAAASE HELP ASAP!

Car has the ATC (Automatic Temperature Control) system, heat/AC turns on automatically. It's frustrating because I can't find any info on my car that will help me fix the problem. As you can see by mileage, I keep this car in excellent shape
