Crossfire 6 Cy

  • Manual transmission
  • 75,000 miles

Talked with Chrysler representative and was told to have xfire towed to nearest Chrysler Dealership for test and suggested repair. Since the ignition switch is a common problem with the Crossfire and the SLK therefore, I think Chrysler should have taken care of the repair. Chrysler offered no relief and I was out over $1300.00 and only got one key rather than a pair. The dealership completed the repair in a timely manner ( 5 days) and the ignition switch works the way ignition switches have worked since their invention, I would think that Chrysler could figure out the simple process of starting a vehicle with a switch key.

Crossfire V6

  • Manual transmission
  • 48,500 miles

I have a 2004 crossfire which I did not drive much, in 2011 my key would not turn for an hour and it got worse. I decide to leave my spare key in the ignition so I could start car, however the car would stop at times while sitting at a light and would not start for hours(but I would not take the key out of the ignition) On 7/30/13 my car cut off while at a light has it towed to a shop. The shop said I had to have it towed to Chrysler .,My car is now at Chrysler and they informed me that they think it is the ignition housing (1200) but can not say it will start. I do not know what to do , being I have read so many complaints about the same problem some people have said they had the ignition housing replaced and the car still did not start . I need help.
