Crossfire Limited V6
- Automatic transmission
- 38,400 miles
My husband and I purchased a 2005 Crossfire yesterday from a little old lady that had the car garaged at all times with 38,000 miles on it. We did not check the window because she said the top hardly went up and she only drove it when the sun was out. I had no idea that there was going to be a potential problem with the glass until I joined a forum especially for Crossfire owners to find out more about this great car I had just purchased, or so I thought! I ran across the issue with the back window coming unglued on so many owners with low mileage in the states of Florida, Texas, and other hot and humid states that I realized " Oh, my god........what are the odds that my car has this problem?" Lo and behold, I went outside, ran my finger around the outside edge of the where the canvas and glass meet and it was indeed separating!!!!! There is an are at the left hand corner, shaped like the letter "C" that is unglued. I have made several calls in attempt to find out what Chrysler is doing for their customer's and so far all I've been told is to make an appointment at a local dealer to have them look it. I am soooo pissed and feel like I've been duped! I don't know if the previous owner knew about this but it's my problem now. I'm hoping it can be repaired since it's about 18" of repair but all of my research says otherwise; that I will have to pay almost $ 3,000 for a replacement top due to a MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT?. I will not rest on my laurels until I get to the bottom of this. This should not be happening to us!! At least, if we need to get a replacement top, Chrysler should subsidize this. I feel so ripped off right now :(

Crossfire
Had a beef that Chrysler would not cover under warranty at first. I was trying to find someone to fix it but received a letter today. So a great big HOORAY for CarComplaints.com!!! They have decided to fix their screw up.
To all you guys who paid to fix it the letter comes with a form to fill out to get reimbursed for your out of pocket money. Just wanted to give everyone head up on this new info. Thanks for all the help.
