The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. While driving 65 mph, the fuel gauge went from half a tank to empty. The contact stated that the vehicle would not accept fuel. The check engine light illuminated and the headlights were inoperable. The dealer stated that the fuel pump and wiring harness caused the failures. The fuel pump, headlight bulb, and the wiring harness were replaced; however, the failures continued. The manufacturer stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number 05V066000 (exterior lighting: Headlights) and NHTSA campaign id number 06V432000 (powertrain: Automatic transmission control module (tcm, PCM)). The failure mileage was 68,000 and current mileage was 69,000. Updated 03/14/08. The consumer stated the fuel gauge was not reading properly

Car burst into fire, after shut down, causing the loss of two automobiles and home. Origin of fire was determined to be a 2005 Chrysler pacific that had just recently been serviced for a head light wiring recall.
