Pacifica

  • Automatic transmission
  • 62,000 miles

Car won't start because it doesn't recognize that it's in park. You have to keep messing with it before it eventually fires up. This has basically disabled the vehicle and rendered it unusable.

Pacifica LX 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 19,139 miles

Vehicle wouldn't start. Called for towing, vehicle then started and I began driving... I think only in low gear (viewing rpms). Many indicator lights appeared... parking, tran problem, pull over, stop, put into park... instead I drove to nearest gas station ( as low fuel light also became lit). After gassing up, the vehicle again would not start and I could not move the car. Called again for towing but after 15 minutes, the vehicle started with only the mantainence light luminated. I drove about 20 miles to where we were staying (Shanty Creek, Bellaire, Mi) where I parked the vehicle. The Pacifica did start the following morning and drove fine but the maintainence light remained on. I have a repair appt. next week for the dealer to look at the problem which hopefully they will fix! Pain!

Pacifica LX 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,950 miles

So annoying. Instead of a shifter lever, they used a round knob to shift trans and put the knob next to the radio, heater&a/c blower knobs which can become confusing. With odometer at 4950 miles, had trouble putting shifter knob back to Park. Was stuck in Neutral. By turning knob ccw (counterclockwise)it would go to reverse, but would jam and not allow knob to go to Park. When going cw(clockwise) it would shift to Neutral. Shift cw again it would go back to Reverse instead of Drive. Shift cw again and it would go back to Neutral. Shift cw again, then finally it will go to Drive. This was all done with key on eng. running and foot on brakes. Took a video of problem on my iPad, but didn't know how to post it. Took vehicle for a test drive and stopped by a side street and tried all selector positions while foot was on brakes and everything shifted properly to their respective positions. This has happened twice now to my wife and is starting to freak out and afraid to drive the vehicle. Will take it back to the dealership and show them the video of what it was doing and hopefully it won't be a major recall on all 2017 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles.

Pacifica Limited V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 25 miles

We discovered the car would not turn off after also not being able shift to park. The shift gear would not allow the knob to even go to park. The only way we had to keep the car from rolling was to use the emergency parking brake. We tried to reset the parking brake problem only to discover the car would not turn off either. This was a very distressing situation.

After less than 2 months of owning a brand new 2017 Chyrsler Pacifica there is a major problem. My family and I went to the grocery store, but when we arrived the car would not shift into park. There were no previous problems or warning signs. We tried turning the car off to see if that would reset things somehow and that's when we discovered that the car would not turn off either. We drove immediately to the dealership to drop off the car and thankfully it's fairly close to our home. This was a very distressing experience.

I think what made the problem worse is that we discovered that this had happened before to Chrysler vehicles. A year or so ago they had a massive recall and they still didn't make the necessary changes when designing a new vehicle.
