My car was in need of a smog test in order to be registered. i bought the car for $2,000. i had bought it from this nice lady (first owner) who had done a very good job keeping the car well mechanically maintained but when i bought it from her. she said that it i had to get it smogged and that whatever the cost it was under my responsibility. i agreed with her, but i didnt think that the problem was devastating. when i took the car in the smog shop they told me that a worn out catalytic converter was restricting the air flow and that it had to be replaced. they send me to a muffler shop to get it replaced which i did ($300 worth). then i brought it back and didn't pass again. i replaced the 02 sensors and still didnt pass. i took it back to the muffler shop and they told me it had 2 converters. a DTC code appeared stating that the front converter had to be replaced as well. i havent replaced it due to the reason that this converter cost $1,500 and can ONLY be obtained from the dealership. if i should of known that this car was going to give me lots of problems in less than a month since i bought the car i wouldnt of bought it NEVER!!!
