problem #1

Oct 212010

Sebring LX 2.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 61,000 miles

Motor was poorly designed with a hydraulic tensioner on timing chain. Nobody wanted to work on it due to it being a nightmare to change the chain with overhead cam, etc. Tried 7 different garages before motor blew due to this problem. Jasper rebuilts said they corrected the problem but they have not. This motor is junk even though it ran nicely before the problem, its sure to fail in 100% of the cars if they are driven. Chrysler completely sucks and would not supply any support even though they tout an 80,000 or 100,000 mile power train warranty. They will NEVER get a dime of money from me EVER again. They are the worst manufacturer and it had other trim issues all along that they could never get correct. I loved the car but now I hate it and Chrysler and would not buy any of their products for even 1/10th the price. They do NOT care about their customers.
