LOCKS or Not to Lock? That is the Question.... I Just bought a used 2005 Chrysler Sebring Today 10/11/2015 and already I am having issues with some items!!

The Driver's side Automatic Lock doesn't work >.<

It works on the Passenger side only.

And the Locks seem to have a mind of their own, Sometimes it wants to turn on by itself, and make me jump startled while driving!! >.<

Sebring Convertible Touring 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 200 miles

I first discovered this when I was rescuing my wife, whose car would not start during a snowstorm. I arrived in my nice, new, warm car. I popped the hood and trunk, got the jumper cables out and started her car. She left, and then I found out that Christine had locked me out. Really. I had to wait for a tow truck to come with a slim jim to get me back in to my car, which was running the whole time.

It only happens to the drivers door.

This has happened many times since then. It was still under warranty, but the dealer said they couldn't fix it because they couldn't reproduce it.

I have figured out that, if I hit the door unlock button just before I close the door, it won't lock itself.
